Concours winning MG Metro Turbo heads to auction 27 Jan 2017 (News)
Maintaining this example in excellent condition, Mr Lamont entered his pride and joy into several shows, winning first prize in car-club Concours d'Elegance events in 2000 and for a second time in 2001. The car then spent a period in professional storage before being passed onto its second owner after 30 years of single ownership. The car’s equally proud second owner continued to cherish the car for another two years before deciding to sell. -

Google to build self-driving cars 28 May 2014 (News)
Limited to 25mph the protoype is fully electric and has a foam-like material at the front plus a flexible windscreen, designed for pedestrian safety. The vehicle itself is very basic with few creature comforts but does have seatbelts, storage space plus a screen that shows the route. The final prototypes will be ready later in 2014 or possibly early next year, although they're not for sale. Google will build 100 prototypes with manual controls and is then planning to run a small pilot scheme in California in the next few years. -

XK150 Resto Project Makes £18,743 at Barons Auction 31 Mar 2009 (News)
A 1960 Jaguar XK 150 FHC restoration project sold at Barons' Sandown Park sale of classic and collectors' cars on March 24th for £18,743, well in excess of the £10,000-£15,000 estimate. The car has spent the past four years in storage, where it was put after the death of its owner, who had been comprehensively restoring the car. That restoration can now be completed by the new owner. 70% of the cars on offer found new homes, including the charming 1967 Ford Anglia Deluxe which, formerly owned by MGM Studios, has appeared in a number of period films and television programmes. -

After being used for further testing, the car was officially retired in 1982 and kept in storage. When the car resurfaced in 2015, the scale of the restoration challenge was clear. The car still bore the scars of racing and testing and many parts were missing or damaged. The full restoration of 924 GTP 002 was entrusted to Porsche Cars GB and it’s four Classic Partner Centres in Leeds, Swindon, Glasgow and Hatfield working in conjunction with Road & Race Restorations, one of the Porsche Recommended Body Repairers. -
