  I want to buy a Jaguar XJS and will only do this if |I can convert to LPG. the XJS has limited boot space but is there enough room for a tank? If I do this how much will it cost and is there any grant that will help towrds the cost of this? Gary

  Hi, thinking about getting a GOLF GTI 2.0 or 1.8 (125 bhp NO TURBO) I would intend to get it converted to LPG but have read that LPG cars can burn the valves on some cars unless hardened ones are fitted. Is the GOLF MK IV ok for conversion? I have not seen very many around. Does anyone have any personal experience?

  Andy following your post I have made some enquiries about LPG conversion for your Explorer. There is a company in GarstoN L\'pool who have been doing LPG conv for over 25 yrs called AutobuilderLPG. They are currently doing a lot of V8 work and seem to know what they are about, I have met the owner and he has a RangeRover he has converted to LPG.

  Further to my previous post asking about mpg on legacy/foresters, mpg seems pretty poor.. has anyone any experience of fitting LPG to one of these vehicles ? Did a little research on the net and one or two people mention valve seat recession problems. Someone else saying there is some gadget that can be fittted to the LPG system to feed in a valve lubricant additive - anyone know anything about this ??

  The only problem is that I\'ve just changed jobs and am commuting about 300 miles a week, and the fuel costs are starting to cause a bit of a dent! Apparently, the Cupra 1.8 20VT engine has just been approved for LPG conversion. It would cost me about £1300 to covert. I was interested - BUT Seat informed me that if I had LPG fitted it would invalidate their 3 year mechanical warranty. So, I have 3 options: 1) Covert to LPG and gamble that nothing major goes wrong with the engine. 2) Sell the Cupra and go for the Diesel Leon. 3) Stop drinking so much beer and carry on running on petrol.

  I have come across a 1980s Jaguar XJS for sale which has been converted to LPG.  I'm intrigued by the car and I'd like to go and look at it. Does anyone have LPG?  It wouldn't be a problem round my way with filling it up; there's several stations with it.  I've got my own list of pros and cons with this car and I would like to know what you lot think as well!

  In my quest to keep down the cost of motoring I'm interested to know if a S/H LPG conversion is a sensible choice. We have an LPG retailer 5 miles away, on a route we use. We do mixed motoring, but not often more than 35 miles at a time (hence my user name), as we also live close to a good train service.

  does anybody know a website telling you ALL the places where you can get LPG, most websites just tell you the cheapest in your area, but the cheapest ones seem to be about 4 - 6 miles from where i live. many thanks.
