  From today, motorists caught using a handheld mobile phone while driving will automatically receive six penalty points and a £200 fine. Newer drivers, who have a limit of six points within their first two years of driving, could find their licence immediately revoked if they’re caught.

  New V6 Engine For Big Vauxhalls 16 Feb 2001 (News)
  GM has announced a new 3,175cc 24 valve V6 engine for its Vauxhall badged Opel Omega models. The new engine, available with automatic transmission only, puts out 217PS against the 211PS of the outgoing 3.0 litre V6, but torque is increased more significantly from 199lb ft to 214lb ft (270Nm to 290Nm)at 3,400 rpm. Top speed of the car is 149mph, 0-60 8 seconds, combined fuel consumption 23.9mpg, CO2 emissions 284g/km and Emission Class Euro 3.
