Can anyone suggest an independent garage which has the diagnostic kit etc that could service a Seat Ibiza S (99 V reg). It has the VW 1.4 MPI engine so it could be a VW independent. I'm just fed up with getting ripped off by dealerships - oh and I live in North London. Thanks, Damaged. -

Trying to get 17 yr old son insured on either the wife\'s 1.8 Focus or my 2.0 Carina. Best quotes so far (Tesco) are £1021 on Focus for wife & son and £1560 for me & son on Carina. Is this par for the course or do any of you out there know better ? -

Is anyone aware of problems with the o/s driveshaft oil seal on the new Focus? My car is a 2011 Focus 1.6 Zetec. A year ago at it's first annual service (at 8.5K) the dealer reported that the o/s driveshaft oil seal was leaking and replaced it under warranty. -

Saw an article in the paper about makers going away from making saloons and hatchbacks, making more 4X4's and MPV's. Obviously gonna cause a lot of unhappiness to the "Ban 4X4 brigade" Are the stats selective to put pressure on local authorities to ban them from their streets? -

Number Plate Fixing bolts 5 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I have the number plate P111 LWM and I have placed a black fixing bolt inbetween the first 2 1's to give the impression of it being the letter H. However the 1's are correctly spaced and the bolt cover doesn't actually touch either of the 1's and therefore only looks like an H from a distance. My questeion is, is this illegal and what should I say when pulled over by the Police? -

I am up to speed on the standard advice being 'buyer beware' / 'walk away' etc so I don't require priming on what you're getting into when considering a Cat N/S car, and in all probability won't be buying one. I'd just like to get a better understanding of why the Cat N/S market is so heavily discounted. If RAC and AA and others charge £200 for a "comprehensive engineer report", 307 point in-depth diagnostic, structural and mechanical inspection, shouldn't all these Cat sellers just pay it, provide the report and list the car asking a price far closer to non-Cat S value? -

Hi, I have a very bad diesel leak from 1.6 zetec s, I've changed injector seals etc but it's definetely not leaking from there. I had my friend who's a mechanic look, and he got a picture of where he thinks it's coming from, somewhere around the fuel pump. -
