Overall reliability

Great for long trips, beautiful interior, great seats, annoying controls, and ultimately a bit boring

Had mine Polestar-red from the off. Really not sure whether it is worth it, I had another rental T5 for a couple of weeks without Polestar, and there is a difference, but not much in every day driving.
Fabulous seats, quality leather. Interior looks lovely and is nice place to be. No rattles or squeaks in mine. Drivetrain is refined and effective, but characterless like most (all?) 4 cylinder engines.
The main negative is having all the controls via a touchscreen. Quite why Volvo, with it's obsession with safety, has done this is unclear, as basically it is unsafe to take your eyes of the road whilst trying to do simple things easily controlled by a knob on other makes. The voice control system is worse than useless (not only does it generally not do what you want, it does something you don't want which then requires correction. My previous Mercedes Linguatronic system was much better.
I won't buy another, mainly because I refuse to spend £40k+ on a car limited to 112mph by the manufacturer. I'll decide that thank you very much.
