Practical car with more room than you would expect from its external footprint

I bought this car new for just under £10,000. Came with free servicing and a fair few extras as the new model range was on its way.
My wife has mainly driven this car and she drives like a maniac as she's always late for everything. It's been very reliable and has now done 35000 miles. It's supposed to be only 86 bhp but it feels far more powerful and performance is better than my Citroen C3 with supposedly 120 bhp. Probably the VAG software technicians have been at it again - I had a Seat Cordoba TDI 130 which delivered 148 bhp on a rolling road, so I don't trust the VAG figures. I don't agree that it's not enjoyable to drive. It's no hot hatch but you can make brisk fuss-free progress in most conditions, but it's comfortable too. I've driven every car under the sun over the years, many of them more enjoyable to drive and many of them much worse, but this has been a sensible buy. It's definitely better built than my SEAT Cordoba, a very similar car, which was great fun to drive until the turbo pipe blew off, which it did every 30000 miles due to VAG not designing a proper boost pipe connection.
