A fantastic vehicle for the price

I bought this for my wife , due to snow affected roads over the last few years, her last car used to to be snow bound for 10 days or more!

OTR price £20K, nothing to add, comfy leather seats, great view from the slightly higher height of this compact SUV

I do not expect too much at this price range , but it is well thought out and spec'd.
Sat Nav is good, Ipod can be plugged in, but I think this Aux is a messy affair, it is an external plug in, therefore the wires are 'flying' about. A neat fit in the glove box would have been better.

It has the normal plastic trim for a Nissan, but I think it works well in this car.

It is a very responsive car in the 'Normal mode' ( you can select..Eco..Normal ..or Sport )
In fact for a 1600 cc it is zippy...go to Sport !! Wow , the car takes off, very quick acceleration for this vehicle. Put it into Eco and you feel the car almost slow as if a hand had been put on the bonnet, a good feature for long journeys , and fuel being saved.

What would I improve?
The rear flexable parcel shelf mountings, they are held in place to the boot by two..Plastic.. clips about the size of a very large draing pin, I closed the boot on a box of recycling cardboard/paper and the the mounting shattered. The cost for one small plastic mount ( Jan 2011) in VAT £12.16

A poor design having said that , I e -mailed Nissan UK with my observations and within a couple of days the Nissan UK Design Team sent me four new mountings! I had told them this break will happen again....even if you are carefull.

The only other moan is that the wing mirrors take a while to defrost....but they automatically fold in when you lock the car..nice feature on a car at this spec.

You can buy a 3 year sevive plan for £250.00 , which is quite good.

I do recommend this car, it is fun to drive , it can be set in two wheel drive, 4x4 , and ' full ' 4x4 for those horible terrains. Any good? I think it is a little light for the worst weather...but I have NOT fitted winter tyres yet, so possibly an unfair comment. In snow 2010/2011 it was quite good in normal tyres.

A nice car, very, very nice to drive, and very responsive. Well done Nissan.
