Nissan Juke (2010 - 2019)

1.6 DiG-T 190 Tekna 4WD CVT Auto 5dr Hatchback
Nice small SUV with a sporty bumpy drive
I am driving a 1.6 DiG-T AWD for two years after I exchanged 1.6 Accenta Premium after one year use.
Driving
I like the high seating position, which gives an overall view ahead. No reach adjustment for steering wheel.
The 1.6 DiG-T engine is very responsive even in ‘normal’ mode. Very helpful on motorways and junctions. The automatic gear box is very smooth but I felt at 3500rpm it got stuck and engine roars even if you stop accelerating.
Easy to manure, steering is very light and responsive, on AWD I feel the car is stitched to the road.
The breaking is very responsive. I forced to change front break disc when the pad get stuck, after a 40mph breaking on a wet road while ABS worked out. It costs me £300 including labour charge.
The A-pillar with big rear view mirror makes a huge blind spot which is really dangerous. The automatic lighting is good but wiper is not at all accurate, I have to adjust it every time manually.
Equipment
The sat nav is good but pricey to update the map. The position of it is awkward you have to take your concentration from the road.
The sound speakers are average.
Seat heating is very fast and comfortable.
Comfort
Very noisy even at 50 mile/hour. I tried a 69db tyre, but no effect in road noise. I feel I am in a factory at motorway speed. Even there is a whining sound at low rpm.
The leather seat is very comfortable.
On 17” wheels it is really bumpy even on small potholes.
Sometimes there is a rattling sound from dashboard.
In fact the rear seats are spacious as much as a Quashqai but is gloomy because of small rear windows.
Practicality
The boot is small and spare wheel take away the additional space. But the folding seats give very good space. It is difficult to get in and out from rear seats and to adjust a child seat.
There is no concealed storage space in the cabin other than glove box.
Expensive
The price £26K is reasonable but I am getting only 24-25.5mpg (30% on A-road 60% on 60mph road and 10% on country lanes) when I drive on Vectoring-AWD mode. The FWD mode is also not improving the fuel efficiency. I am always using Shell V-Power Nitro.
Very easy to get chip marks all over may be because of its design. Insurance costs me £500 with two year claim and road at £200 per year.
