Overall reliability

Nippy around town but unsuited to motorway speeds and very thirsty for such a small engine.

An excellent small town car which has been easy to park in the tightest spaces and provides nippy acceleration away from trafic lights. The equipment levels and interior are more than adequate with supportive seats and a good air conditioning system rather let down by a very poor radio which frequently loses the FM signal in built up areas.

I feel that the biggest problem with the 'i' is the dreadful fuel consumption. Considering that this type of car is often bought for it's low running costs, an average of around 35mpg is very poor for a small engined car. I did contact Mitsubishi on a number of occasions but they seemed totally uninterested and put it down to driving style and that the published average figures should not be taken as a guarantee of actual performance.

Perhaps a good second car for around town and a talking point for its rarity (I've only ever seen one other!)
