Very good but should be for the price

Bought new. Had 3 year old plus cars before this so went mad and got this from a dealer.

Dealer was very good apart from manouvering me into an in stock car that wasn't quite perfect for me (fit the bill apart from 7 seat option which has never been used and I wanted the adaptive lights). Next time round I'll put my foot down and get the car I really want.

Quality of the car is very good though not perfect - passenger seat storage tray keeps popping open randomly despite no-one sitting in it. MB dealer have been unable to sort. Same goes for an odd noise that sometimes can be heard at the back of the climate control unit.

Mine also had a small manufacturing fault with a rear seat belt which meant one seat could not be used. It's been bodged, but still awaiting a proper fix.

Car is very quick for the size of car. Not blisteringly quick, but quick enough for most duties. I do want a quicker one next time though!

Not convinced with RWD - would prefer FWD or 4WD next time.

Economy is nowhere near the official of 57mpg. Best I've ever got is late 40's - my average over 22,000 miles is 37mpg, and that is with a lot of long journeys. I use another car for in town short journeys. However, I didn't get it for the mpg - it's just annoying that these figures are so far out.

Sat Nav is excellent. Again not perfect as it always tries to get you onto main roads which local knowledge sometimes tells you is the worst way to go. Very quick to zoom in and out of maps though. I would have expected full electric seats for the price.

Gearbox isn't the quickest - the car is fast enough, but sometimes the gearbox can't decide what gear to be in. You can't anticipate the changes as it sometimes does change quickly - meaning you almost rear end the car in front when trying to anticipate an overtaking opportunity.

Park Assist - do not pay for this as an extra unless you are hopeless at parking. I tried it on loads of spaces and the car just wouldn't recognise it as a big enough space. If the space is huge, it will work, but what's the point of that? No end of times I've got into a space comfortably which the Park Assist deemed to be too small. Suspect this is the same for Park Assist in all cars - they've probably dialled in too much contingency.

Steering - excellent.
Brakes - excellent.

Very comfy and spacious. Boot is almost too big - have to put other stuff in there when I go shopping to stop it slopping around.

Alloys get chipped if a sparrow lands too heavily within 2 miles. Seem to be very soft.

Thinking of a C450 AMG 4matic when they are available in the UK. May even get the new E class when that's out though I'd rather not have RWD.
