Great Jack of all trades.... master of none.

I bought a new Sportage 17.CRDI GT Line edition in May 2017. I experienced the rear brake callipers sticking ( 1 very hot wheel) after only 250 miles. Returned to dealership, who had the car for 2 days, diagnosed a fault and “fixed it”. After another 400 miles it happened again. Dealership fixed the problem again.... and it came back within 5 miles!

Car was returned and fixed.... only to experience the same problem within 200 more miles. At this I rejected the car as they clearly weren’t fixing a dangerous fault after 3 attempts.
I was offered a full refund or brand new car.... so I chose a new one. I was given a courtesy car throughout and the dealership were always very helpful (RRG Bury, Lancashire).

The replacement car arrived in August 2017 and we’ve had 25,000 trouble free miles in it, over 3 years. Other than a minor “notchy” feeling to the power steering on sweeping bends. I like the car so much that we decided to buy it outright after the 3 year finance deal ended... we intend to keep it for another 3 years at least.

The ride is a little firm on 19 inch alloys but not too bad. It’s quiet, economical and very well equipped. The sat nav and touchscreen is particularly good.... well thought out piece of design.

I would happily recommend the car to anyone and the dealership experience was very good. A small reoccurring problem with the original car did taint the experience for me but no brand is 100% perfect.
