Overall reliability
Reliable, economical, needs the bigger engine and problem with paintwork/rust on roof which was not covered by warranty.
Bought this car from an auction with the confidence that it had 20 months left on warranty. Has been reliable and economical but a few months ago I noticed that paint on roof was bubbling in a few places. Hyundai say this is not covered under the warranty because it has not had all the bodywork inspections and that it is due to birds or paintwork chips. Never had a problem with rust on the roof of any other car I have owned so disappointed.
The 1.4 needs a bit more power now I have moved to somewhere with a lot more hills but still gives good economy but not as an engaging car to drive as my previous car, a Mazda3.
