Not worth the money

Bought this car this year from a dealer in Ireland and after not even a year with it I have decided to cut my losses and buy a VW Golf and this is why:

1) When car stopped at lights and I dont put it in stop start mode (because often my display tells me I cant do stop start right now) the car starts to rev

2) stop start doesnt work very often even after car has been running for a while and so battery should have enough charge to fire up engine again (and this includes in summer with no heaters running and no radio on)

3) back centre armrest flops down onto seat so if drinks are fairly full they slop everywhere (hyundai's response to this is "oh in our cars they all do that" (!))

4) I cut my finger on the steering wheel - if you run your hands on inner part of wheel you will see that the cheap skates in Hyundai havent finished off the steering wheel properly and that there is a gap between the two bits of plastic

5) MPG nowhere near official figures - over the 9 months I have had the car have only managed 45 mpg

All of the above, coupled with when the car arrived in February and it did not have the equipment that I was told (in writing) I would be getting, has left me very disgruntled. Back in February I was prepared to give the car a chance to redeem itself but unfortunately I now realise what a mistake I made. I hope my next car the golf 1.4 tsi 140bhp proves to be more satisfactory (will keep you posted in a year)
