Great car so far

Bought this car as I have had previous model Civics and put 250k on each without any problems. So far first impressions as I have only travelled 1000 miles.

This car is a qauntum leap forwards from the pre 2006 model I owned before. It's stunning to look at and the detailing around such simple items as door handles, vents and grilles is brilliant.

The magic seats are fantastic, not only do they fold down flat for a large load floor, the lift up base gives an additional tall stowage space. It's clever and very practical.

The boot space is large and in addition, sacrificing the spare wheel has made a great underfloor storage area. Initially I was hesitant about having no spare but actually its been about 500,000 miles since I last had a puncture needing a wheel change and it comes with a tin of gloop for that eventuality.

Inside the cabin is roomy with loads of rear legroom even with the front seats back. I don't know where the space comes from in what is only a medium sized car! The panoramic roof is great, as is the climate control. Even the stereo sounds great when cranked up loud.

Fuel economy on a run is over 50mpg, handling nimble although the brakes feel a bit wooden. It's a fine motor the 2.2 diesel and with chain driven cams there is a lower ongoing maintenance cost over timing belts. Servicing at 12,500 miles intervals is ok for average mileage drivers but for me will mean 3 services a year.

Overall I'm very impressed by this car and highly recommend it.
