Nice but poor mpg - VW Golf Bluemotion far better

The car looks good and feels well built. I opted for the lunar sky colour and I must say it does look nice. I do a lot of company miles so opted for this car because it was well spec'd and had amazing mpg figures but I have done just under 1k in this car (80% motorway miles @ 70mph) and I am nowhere near the official mpg figures. I have averaged 52 mpg. I know this isnt bad but it far from official figures, I was expecting to get around 60mpg but I doubt I will ever see this. I had a VW Golf 1.6 tdi Bluemotion and averaged 62mpg so I was expecting similar but no chance.

Everything else on the car is fine, the finish is far better than the previous model but I do think there is a big difference between the lower spec cars (zetec and below) compared to the titanium range.

The park assist works but never use it unless I am showing friends as you have to drive at crawling pace for it to detect a space. Also, you need to drive with you indicator on for it to look for spaces on your near side.

The Drive Assist option is nice but the Blind Spot Warning system is the only thing I really find useful in the real world.

I do like the car but would have gone for the VW Golf Bluemotion if I new the mpg was this bad.
