Overall reliability

Great little car that turns heads with fine road manners.

Mum bought car to replace our well served but high milage Seat Altea. Had it for a few months now and still happy with it overall.

Good bits:
Looks great in magenta metallic with the chrome on zetec model. Still prefer it to the facelift model that has that stupid gawping grille.
Fantastic thing to drive. Great steering, road holding and ride quality. Fords just have such a feel to them that just isnt on offer from rivals such as vauxhall, vw, renault etc.
Comfy, supportive seats. Much softer than they were in the Altea.
Surprisingly practical. My mum was thinking that a fiesta would be too small for us but no. Feels as roomy and as airy as mk1 Focus.
Fabulous headlight range on full beam and very good on dipped beam.
Refinement is unbelivable. So quiet and subdued on the move, barely audible at idle.
Good kit on zetec model we have. Heated windscreen great on winter mornings :)
Cheap on fuel. Averaging 43 mpg at the moment. Some 10 mpg better than the 1.6 Altea.

Not so good bits:
Paint scratches very easy due to Ford foolishly choosing to use an extremely soft lacquer for magenta metallic. Slightly regret getting it in the colour because of this.
Surprisingly a very easy car to stall. My mum never used to in the Altea but has done so in the Fiesta several times now. Seems to have a very biting point and throttle response as I have tested myself.
Selecting reverse gear is a lottery. Sometimes is fine but sometimes gives horrible crunching noise even when correctly selected. Reading up on other reviews, seems to be very common mk6 fiesta problem.
Windscreen wipers dont clean enough area of screen.
Column stalks very stiffly damped.

Overall though, a very good family car and commuter that gets countless admirations on how stylish it is- a real delight considering this is the best selling car in the uk.
Hopefully we will have many more trouble free years of motoring in this fab Fordy :)
