thought it was nice car

since we got this vehicle its had like a burning smell like burnt oil recently I to put in a pint of oil,the smell got so bad I had to take it back to dealer to see if they could identify what was wrong its only done 5.500 mile since we had it, now they tell me the clutch is burnt out. has anyone had experience of this problem ,before my retirement I drove approx 50 to 60,000 miles a year with my job and never had a clutch fitted to any car i drove in the 20 years with the company,, the car had been in before this for the smell problem and no one could find anything wrong,and there has been no trouble changing gear or clutch slip,, also i,m ex mechanic and have worked in motor trade since age 15, now 67.. my first car was a 1932 J TYPE M.G. With a crash box so you had to learn to drive properly otherwise you gearbox wopuldnt last long.
