2.0i 16v Exclusive 7-seat People Carrier

Very practical, attractive, comfortable and economical all-rounder which is also good for caravan towing.

Bought this 3 years ago to replace a top spec diesel C5 estate (which replaced a wonderful XM) and have been very pleased with it. Yes, I do like Citroens and also have a 2CV, but this is neither weird nor unreliable despite what some still think. The C5's leather seats were better (don't find C4's particularly comfortable) but in other respects the C4 GP is great. Flexibility of seating and load capacity VG - very easy to set up. Deliberately chose exclusive trim as it had air suspension at the back; the self-levelling is great for towing and this was the nearest to the "proper" Citroen suspension of the C5 we could get! The rear air suspension bags failed, as they tended to do, within a year of purchase, i.e. when it was 4 yrs old but as we had bought it at Citroen owned dealership with 1 yr. guarantee they paid. The replacement parts are better than the original equipment so it should be OK now. The car also has EGS two pedal automated manual and this is excellent - as long as you drive it carefully. It is quite possible to do so without jerking, though some have complained about this. You simply (unconsciously) end up lifting up the accelerator pedal very slightly when it's about to change up. But then I'm used to driving semi-automatic buses! Not only does it work well, but it seems to be at least as as economical as a manual and much more so than a torque converter "real" automatic. Best of both worlds. Apart from needing to replace the suspension bags under guarantee it's been trouble-free, very useful, excellent for transporting 7 people at once or moving furniture, and it tows our caravan very well. I would happily buy another one.
