Poor quality car from a premium manufacturer

The car itself is alright, but the build quality and the numerous faults it's had rectified (plus some unrectified) is unbelievable.

I certainly won't be buying another BMW, as they've cost cut and they now trade on their past.

BMW head office are not willing to help with car, stated that's what a warranty is for. Well, I've now had probably 16k of warranty work done on the car.

Faults including:

2 new head units

2 new wheel bearings at 5k miles

1 new rear section of exhaust due to rattles (replacement rattling after 6 months)

HVAC system creaking (dashboard out, parts replaced) creaking again after 12 months

2 cracked windscreens

Constant misting up (possibly caused by rear boot area vents)

Rusted seat bases (from 3 month old)

Numerous rattles (trim removed by myself and Tessa tape applied)

Creaking doors/windows

Knocking steering (from joint in steering column)

4 new alloy wheels (originals buckled-poor quality)

Headlights miss aligned

Head unit 'forgets what it's doing'

2 replacement door cards from plastic 'peeling'

Rusting inner hubs

Rusting bell housings

3 sets of replacement exhaust tips due to rusting

Vibrations coming through HVAC system

HVAC system ingested leaves cleaned out during product enhancement.

Blemish in paint from new

Rattle below dashboard (found to be a loose HVAC pipe-supporting elastic band not attached, not kidding, elastic band....)

HVAC randomly blowing freezing cold air

Numerous software updates.

I will be buying a much cheaper car as my next car due to faults and general attitude of BMW UK. Dealer was alright once they came to understand that I knew what I was on about and wasn't going to be fobbed off!

By far the poorest built car I have ever owned, with by far the highest number if faults.

I suggest looking elsewhere as the new M140i seems to be of similar poor build quality.
