Will my van tow my caravan safely?

Can a Ford Tourneo Connect tow a small caravan?

Will very much depend on how much the caravan weighs. Most Tourneo Connect vans will tow up to 1100kg, when hooked to a braked trailer/caravan; however, you'll need to check the maximum weight limits for your van as it may differ. You can find a vehicle’s weight limits in the owner’s manual. They are also usually detailed on a plate or sticker somewhere on the vehicle itself. This might be on the body behind the driver’s door, on the back of the fuel filler cap or in the engine bay, for example. It should also be possible to find out a caravan’s weight from its owner’s manual or on the caravan itself.

Don't confuse gross vehicle weight (GVW) with the gross train weight (GTW): The GVW is the maximum permitted weight of the vehicle, while the GTW is the maximum permitted weight of the vehicle and the caravan being towed. You must not exceed the GTW when towing.
