What used petrol saloon car should I buy?

I want to buy a used, low mileage petrol car with 4-5 comfortable seats, preferably European badged. We are in our 80s and so easy access would be appreciated, as would flat loading to the boot. Currently I drive a Jaguar XFR-Sport.
What should I buy? We have only looked at Skoda so far.

Looking at a Skoda is a sensible starting point, although typically saloons have a significant boot lip so you may need to widen your criteria to include hatchbacks and estates like the Superb. This would also allow you to look at cars like the previous generation Audi A6 Avant or Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate. If it has to be a saloon we would suggest the Mercedes-Benz E-Class or the BMW 5-Series.
