Is an aftermarket spare wheel good for emergencies?

We have a Cupra Formentor V2. We had an incident on a Sunday night with a tyre puncture. Our break down recovery service couldn’t offer an appropriate solution and advised we call an emergency tyre fitter which we had to at an enormous cost. We are considering purchasing a spare wheel e.g. Road Hero. Are these of any use and are there any alternatives?

A space saver spare wheel and tools is a sensible provision in case of a puncture, and as well as Road Hero you may wish to consider thewheelshop.co.uk which offers a space saver spare for your vehicle in 18- and 19-inch sizes. Alternatively you could look at an emergency tyre inflation kit, although these will not help in the event that the tyre is torn or comes off the rim. You could also consider fitting run flat tyres, although this would mean replacing all four tyres and may affect ride quality.
