  "Noise is intrusive and reduces the driver’s mental processing power, and can lead to distraction and stress," says Dr John Cartwright, chief medical officer, Ford of Britain. "By removing unwanted powertrain noise, Ford is helping customers to complete their journey calmly and in comfort." Cleverly, the system doesn't affect the volume of music from the stereo or conversation between passengers.

  Ford has announced the dates for its free training scheme for young drivers. Ford Driving Skills for Life will be rolled out across the UK from September and be organised in conjunction with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the Automobile Association (AA).

  He used to drive around in it with Steve Marriott of Small Faces. Incidentally; Steve Marriot described this Cooper S as 'a 100mph pair of shades'. In 1978, John sold the car to Denny Laine; apparently, Denny’s wife Jo wanted it. John regretted the sale and purchased the Cooper S back eight months later. In 1997, John once again sold the car but told the buyer, if he ever wanted to sell then get in touch.

  'Garage Find' ex Onassis Lamborghini Miura S in December 4th Car Auction 28 Nov 2012 (News)
  Found in a Greek warehouse after laying undiscovered for decades, this Lambirghini Muira S was once given as a present by Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis to his favourite Greek pop star of the 60s and 70s, Stamatis Kokotas. The Muira S was one of only 140 ever built and is to be sold at the COYS “True Greats” Christmas auction in London next week on Tuesday December 4th at an estimate of £370,000.  Other important collectors’ cars coming up for sale at this auction include a rare 1934 Riley Imp, estimated at  £70,000 to £80,000; a 1938 BMW 328 Roadster, estimated at £400,000 to £500,000, and a second fully restored Lamborghini Miura SV, estimated at £370,000 to £420,000.

  This 36k mile unwarranted 02 reg Cooper S with leather sold for £9,700 in the Black Horse section today. And it wasn’t a one-off.   Ford unveiled a 150mph version of the Focus at the Motor Show on 17th October. The car will go on sale in Spring 2001. The engine is a turbocharged version of the 2.0 litre Zetec engine seen in the Mondeo and Focus and develops more than 200 bhp.
