  hi all. Just had car serviced but checking oil level found the oil level is about a millimeter above the max line if even that on dip stick not wanting to kick up a fuss can i get away with this especially given the cold weather should i go back and get the excess drained off as alway many thanks to any replies received much appreciated

• Appealing a parking ticket 5 Aug 2007 (Forum)
  Reading the back of it it's £60 reduced to £30 if I pay within 14 days. I want to appeal it as the sign saying parking for 1 hr max was totally obscured by a shop shop front next to it and no other signs were visible from where I parked. The wording on the ticket says I can't appeal until after the 14 day period has elapsed - surely this can't be right?

  On the hunt for a new car for 'er indoors. With an absolute max budget of £5000, I was trawling the trader and noticed that a Chevvy Lacetti on a 55 plate (with a years free servicing remaining) can be had within budget (just). This seems a better alternative than a Focus that's two years older.

  The heater matrix has just been replaced and the people who did it say my cylinder head gasket could be failing. The coolant level is on the max line. The engine temperature is the same as it always has been. Any one any ideas

  Just bought a xsara estate and am wondering why the speedo dial is so dim. I have adjusted the brightness to max as per handbook yet I still cannot see the red KPH dial. As I use the car in France a lot this is a bit of a drawback. Has a bulb blown? (the dial does light up though) Has a bulb dislodged? Is a low power bulb being used?

  hi lads i have a 306 xsi and im getting some vibrations....when im stand still and i put my foot on the accelerator and i could feel a slight vibration.ive got someone to check the exaust its fine....enigine mounts fine.......when i showed it to my uncle he said the acclerator cables strenghed abit....he goes its to the max.........so he said get that checked.......anyone got any ideas what it could be? thanks

  After 45 mins, you can almost set your watch by it, the output from the ACC turns to cold. The only way to stay warm is to increase the temp setting to 'max'. Saab have suggested a new ACC unit but I am not convinced as it behaved correctly when tested. Is there a sensor somewhere that could be playing up? Any ideas gratefully recieved.

  Trouble is that it seems I have to start insuring it as if I have zero no claims, which puts the premium at about the price of the car! I have max no claims on my other car and will be the only driver on both, so only one can be driven at a time. Surely some enterprising insurer offers a reasonable deal for such a situation. Most grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction.

  Hi, I am looking at a G reg Audi 80 2.0 E auto with 73,000 on the clock and FSH. The automatic gearbox is filled way over max mark and fluid is brown (engine up to temp). Cooling fans stay on for long after engine switched off. Drives well but for slight whine. Any advice gratefully received, especially on the autobox.
