Ford Fiesta 02 reg - To scrap or not to scrap? 2 Oct 2014 (Forum)
I dont have home assistance and so I would have to somehow try and get it to a garage but have also been quoted £100 as a scrap price and i'm not sure whether it is worth the effort to save it given it's probably a big repair required (I would have to borrow the money for repairs in that case). Thoughts on potential fault/s and cost would be appreciated. I do need a car to get the kids about but I am coping on the bus this week so I can probably live without one for a while if I have to Thanks in advance Kevin -
DSG Transmissions 8 Jun 2013 (Forum)
I'm sticking with the devil I know - by the time DSGs, and CVTs come to that, have proved their very long-term reliablity the only vehicle I'll need will be the hea-r-s-e (stupid censor software) ! -
Ford Focus - Vibration wobble under load 16 Apr 2013 (Forum)
HI can any one help, had my mk1 focus for 12 years 83,000 milesnow and the last two years it has a fault thats geting slowly worse. the car only vibrates/wobbles under load 45mph+. no vibration through the steering but is felt through the whole car. the more weight is in the car and the more load it is under it gets worse. as soon as the throttle is release the vibration goes. i have had new tyres fitted, another two wheels fitted as found buckles in them. wheels balanced and tracking done, o/s drive shaft changed, new front disc and pads but alas its still there. the only thing i have noticed is when the near side front wheel is jacked up and the car is run at any speed in any gear and the brakes are applied the vibration comes apparant. if i put it in 1st 10mph with foot on throttle also on brake and go as slow as i can it feels like something like thuding.. as soon as i release the brake the thuding stops, it doesn't do this when i do this on the drivers side. could it be drive shaft cv joints, final drive or gear box. any help please its driving me nuts! -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 98 1.4 Multiple misfire under load 23 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I've already tried a few things but I'm struggling to figure out what is causing my S reg fiesta 1.4 v16 zetec to misfire and hesitate under acceleration and could do with some help. Thanks in advance! The car seems a bit sluggish all the time but the misfire is especially evident under heavy acceleration such as on an uphill motorway approach slip road. -
Ford Galaxy - Brakes fault finding master cylinder calipers 4 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Does anyone have any general advice on all this? Is it worth replacing the seals, or should I replace the whole caliper(s)? Could the master cylinder operate at a different pressure? (It is "supposed" to be the correct one... despite the different dimension mentioned above). Thanks in advance!!!! -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 01 2.0 Running problems 17 Jan 2010 (Forum)
The only thing they could come up with was maybe a problem with the injector codes. Looking in to this problem it seems like it is just the TDCI?s that suffer from this problem or am I wrong? If it is the injector codes I have heard that it can happen again soon after it is sorted. It is an old car now everything is perfect apart from the fuelling is it worth it? -
Ford Probe (1994 - 1998) - 95 2.5 Electrical / water short 20 Nov 2009 (Forum)
If so, where are the water traps and where shall I liberally apply gaffer tape and bathroom sealant to prevent this happening again? I noticed that the fuse box in the N/S engine bay was making a buzzing at the time of the problem, so maybe this could be a lead culprit? {shouting in header amended. Welcome to the forum, btw} -
Airport Parking Company - Liability for damage? 5 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Having had someone drive into the back of my Focus in late Feb, I eventually had a new bumper fitted by Ford. I went on holiday a week later leaving my pride and joy in the hands of a certain airport parking company. On returning I noticed a scrape on the previously prestine bumper just behind the N/S rear wheel arch on the plastic mouldings and a scuff around the reversing light/fog surround. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 52 reg TDCi - Warning Light Problem! 2 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Im going to be selling it soon - not cos of this but cos I've just got a new company car (Focus Ghia 2.0 petrol - now I know why everyone goes on about the "handling" - nice but it doesn't half take time to accelerate - certainly missing my TDCi on slip roads!!! - sorry, I digress) s -
The good service thread - Vol 1 17 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I dropped the car in this morning and picked it up a few hours later, I was initially shown a bill of around £210 inc parts, labour and vat however the service manager offered to call it quits on the basis of me redeeming the £100 credit note and in lieu of the missing AA cover. Excellent service, thanks Jamie at Brunel Ford, Winterstoke Road in Bristol. -

DVLA MOT unusual entry 9 Mar 2025 (Forum)
Hi This is a screenshot on part of my car's MOT history. Can anybody think of a reason there would be no MOT record for 2015 yet the vehicle mileage increased by around 40,000 miles in a period of about 18 months? -

Vauxhall Astra - Misfire 30 Jul 2019 (Forum)
Hi I have a Vauxhall Astra 1.4 petrol, 2015. It has a intermittent misfire but there are no lights on the dash. It seems to have got worse when it is a hot day. Plugs and coil pack seem ok, could this be a faulty ECU? -

New car - making a shortlist 28 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Front seats not the best, but dashboard and i-Drive controller very good. Automatic is a torque converter - good. Ford C-Max A surprisingly strong contender, but I want to go back to an automatic and Ford's Powershift gearbox is all too similar to a DSG. Excellent driving position although the dashboard is a bit in-yer-face. -
Peugeot 2008 1.2 EAT6 130 - 3 yr progress report 31 Oct 2022 (Forum)
It's 6,800 miles since I changed the oil and filter on this carefully run-in potent little engine, draining it thoroughly and putting in exactly 3.5 litres of Castrol Magnatec stopstart 0-30 which exactly hit the max mark. Level is now 10mm below the mark. There's a surprisingly large distance of 40mm between the max and min dipstick marks. I suppose tiny 3cylinder engines have deep oversquare sumps. Assuming both volumetric symmetry and one litre between max and min marks, it has used 250mls oil, equating to somewhere between 25 - 30,000 miles per litre, allowing for observer error. -
Isuzu D-Max Rodeo Denver (2003 - ) - Swedish dealer no better than English ones!! 18 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I finally took delivery of a new D-Max pickup. I asked the dealer to fit an engine and cabin heater, a second set of genuine alloys with a certain make of studded tyres, and to tint the rear windows. I picked the car up from a non-Isuzu dealer (same company) closer to me.
