  • Ford Escort CLX 1992 shifting problem 1 Apr 2005 (Forum)
My 92 CLX escort has a tough time shifting from 3rd to 2nd. The gears bump and grind. If the RPM?s are under 1K then I can usually manage it. I have heard it might be the synchros. Any ideas? Any one heard that using a different tranny fluid viscosity will help? satgale@wwdb.org

It is a 2015 Japanese family car, which has 29,000 miles on the clock.  However, when I checked MOT history, things don't add up: 2018 - mileage 14,000 2019 - mileage 18,000  2020 mileage 22,0000 - Pass         Advisories: Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e)) Front Brake pad(s) wearing thin (1.1.13 (a) (ii)) 2021 - mileage - 28,000 It has two previous owners.
  • Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 31-08-2019 21 Sep 2019 (Forum)
Which Car "expert" answered a query form someone about an HRV - he dismissed the HRV as under powered. This was probably based on their "expert review" of the 2015 1,5's. He recommended a CRV!! - the query was from a driver of a 12 year old Jazz - even the slow HRV would be OK for a driver of an asthmatic Jazz. Obviously they had not done their homework on the 1.5 Sport than can do 0-60 in roughly 8 seconds.
  • Ford Mondeo - Mondeo Autobox 2 Nov 2023 (Forum)
I am dubious that life meant much over 10 years old and 100k! Do you think the oil and filter change are worth trying in case it is now s sludge box rather than a slush box?
  • Ford Mondeo - Vandals 8 Mar 2018 (Forum)
So the lowlife in the area has taken away his livelyhood for at least 8 weeks or so. The fitter said it had been stood there for 10 days drying out.  b*********s!

  • Max Bids at Auction 25 May 2009 (Forum)
Hi All, Through a friend who had a BCA account I once bought a car at an auction without attending cos it was 200 miles away. This was done by registering a max bid for the vehicle. I got the car but I paid only £100 short of my max bid and ever since I have been suspicious. I mean it would be easy for them to work up the price a bit wouldn't it, even taking bids from an imaginary bidder to get the price and the commission up.
  • HJ's C Max Long term Test 6 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Well done, accurate and right to the point. I love my C-Max 2.0 TDCi Ghia and rank it as one of the best cars I have ever owned. Maybe I'm getting older (heading for 50) but there's nothing out there I want to change it for.
  • Which new car to buy? 2 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Also very boring range of colours. Used Ford B-max - feels very comfortable but not a lot of choice in colours I like.   I haven't sat in a Jazz for a couple of years but I felt it was very narrow which made me feel cramped.

  • Servicing costs at Ford Ind.Specialists 13 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Hi All Today I had my '97 Mondeo serviced at the usual place. These guys are independant Ford specialists, using Ford parts etc and have been around since the mid 1940's. The car was in for a main or as Ford call it a 'standard' service at 65000mls. Parts replaced were plugs, oil and all the filters( air, oil, pollen and fuel).
