  I am making the assumption that  people are really feeling the pinch so only selling vehicles when they have to ie. if theres an issue. (I'm certainly in thisposition..) I'm also in S London just inside M25 and there is hardly anything local  unless you want a Ford or Vauxhall (I dont) What are other peoples experiences. ?   My diesel at home is a Ford S-Max 2.0 TDCi with 6sp slushbox auto. 140bhp.  It pulls a large heavy car with a surprising amount of verve and the wave of torque is marvellous coming up a hill on the motorway.  I didn't buy that engine for economy or driveability; simply because the only petrol auto was a dreadful 2.3 iron lump that no-one wanted.

  Like the front windscreen the sunroof is part of the stuctute of the car and was wondering how will it stand potholes, rough roads etc. Ford S-max owners have reported seeing crack in the sunroof after a few years. Nissan brochure says they are very strong. Just that in the past i had a cricket ball smash through my small sunroof on a '96 mondeo.

  I've owned Japanese for the last 5 years, so I was leaning that way, but Japanese diesels aren't freely available for around my budget (correct me if I'm wrong). First thoughts were Focus diesels, maybe 306's, but these are massive come-downs from Japanese cars - I'm used to air/con, CD players, all the little 'standard' things on Japanese cars that the likes of Ford, etc charge extra for (or badge as Ghias).

  I am considering a new to me car and have spotted a used Mondeo petrol that generally fits the bill. Looking at the dealer photos one includes the service book as follows: PDI Oct 2015 1st Service Oct 2017 at 20k No other services included in the records - nothing for Oct 2016 or Oct 2018. I thought Ford petrol engines had a one year 12.5k interval. Current mileage about 30k Is this car worth a look considering the lack of service?
