  • Ford Fiesta - Coolant leak 1 Aug 2022 (Forum)
Hey all  I have a 2009 Ford fiesta (1.25) and a big fat coolant leak. I topped it up (actually above the max line) and the coolant dropped below the minimum line after about 70 miles of driving.  I'm just wondering the best way to go about fixing it.
  • Ford Fiesta - Brake travel on 63 Model 2 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I test drove a 63 plate Fiesta at a Ford dealership the other day. Having owned several different models of Focuses, C-Max's and Fiestas, I found the braking a little soft. As I braked the brake pedal seemed to me, to travel a lot further than I usually would expect before the braking kicked in.
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1999 1.8 Does anyone know about volume of coolant 6 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I would be interested to know (roughly) what volume of coolant (water/antifreeze mixture) is required to raise the coolant level in the coolant reservoir from the min line to the max line (in litres or millilitres). My car is a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol with the orange type coolant. I know from the Hayne's manual that it takes approximately 1 litre of oil to raise the engine oil level on the engine dipstick from minimum to maximum but I want to know about the coolant so that I can work out by how much the level has dropped e.g. to rule out head gasket symptoms.
  • Ford tibbe key numbers 28 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Ever wonder how when you go to a Ford dealer to get a tibbe key cut, or even if you've lost the key number tag, how the dealer can cut a perfect copy just by looking at it, heres how. This method will also give you your key number as well.
  • Cheap runabout £2000 advice 11 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand cheap runabout within the next couple of months, max price of £2000.  I'll mostly be using it at the weekends to get out of the city, or for a quick run down to the supermarket.  I've previously owned a Ford Puma, a Fiat Punto and a Ford Sierra, and I'm really not fussed by the looks of the car, as long as it's reliable and not a shed and will last me for a few years without costing an arm and a leg.
  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 06 2.0 tdci strarting problem 31 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Just recently it has started to develop a starting problem. When you turn the key in the morning the glow plug light only lights for 1 second max and then you turn the key and it starts with no problems and then stops and the glow plug light comes back on for another second or two. You then try again and it will allways start. Once it has started it will run and start for the rest of the day no problem.
  • 2015 Astra 1.4 turbo - Replace engine or sc*** 28 Apr 2024 (Forum)
Investigation shows camshaft deeply grooved, suspect other key parts also FUBAR and a fresh engine is required. (Ebay has one for about £1280). He is currently using a (genuine) 40,000 mile Ford Ka which his brother was planning to sell, valued at £ 2500 - 3000,                 if I were him I'd buy the Ka and sell the non-running Astra.

  • New Toyota Hi-Lux 3 Dec 2005 (Forum)
s very bland, plus the interior appointments are inferior. I also looked at the Ford and Mitsubishi equivalents but they are a couple of years out of date now as well as being a bit agricultural. Pickups here are now valid and fashionable urban transportation and Toyota has got there first for sure.
