Faulty thermostat on Ford Focus

I originally had a coolant leak, which the garage said was a faulty thermostat, which they since changed. The garage has had it in four times now and still no sign of the problem being sorted. Any ideas?

Most likely due to an airlock in the cooling system. Purge be taking the cap off the expansion tank and running the engine up to temperature with the cap off and the heater set to max. Check the coolant in case the transmission heat exchanger has failed and is mixing coolant and trans fluid. Still a problem, replace the engine temperature sensor/sender.
