Ford C-Max - faulty engine response 5 Aug 2014 (Forum)
I have an old ('04) Ford C-Max with a 2.0 diesel engine which I believe is pre DPF. The car has an engine problem which, though very intermittent, is potentially dangerous. The last two times it happened were both at junctions, the engine idling as I waited to pull out into a larger road (in one case a fast A road). -

Any - Alternatives 15 Sep 2024 (Forum)
It would be a sort of interim car as the dogs are getting on (12 & 13) though the height of the boot isn't really an issue as we have a flexiramp. Budget is up to 6k & cars l've got in mind are: 1. Ford Focus 1.6 estate 2. Vauxhall Astra 1.6 estate 3. Ford C Max 1.6 4. Suzuki SX4 - S-Cross 1.6 (not many nearby) All above manual transmission. Would need to be fairly local (30 miles of WV16 post code) Alternative suggestions welcome. -

Ford C-MAX - Ford Cmax wobble under acceleration 24 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I have a 2007 Ford C-Max 2.0 petrol Automatic. It has a wobble but only on acceleration. You feel it through both the accelerator pedal and through the floor in either of the front seats. As you ease off the throttle the wobble goes away and the car will cruise along nicely. -

Any - What is the max safe life for 'space-saver' tyres? 11 Feb 2014 (Forum)
The risk of a catastrophic failure when they are eventually used must be high, especially as they are not of the most robust construction and are inflated to 60psi, however I have read of no such failure(s). Maybe they are better than they look, or perhaps being stored in the dark extends their life to say 10-15 years? Seems unlikely to me. -
too much oil...consequences of driving 2 Jun 2006 (Forum)
My friend got given a vectra (W reg) by his brother; he accidentally put in too much oil (the dip stick goes up past the max by about the same amount as the distance between the max and the min). Now it takes a few turn s to start and there was a puff of black smoke.. He hasnt got any inspection ramps or anywhere to safely drain away the oil, is it safe to drive the car about 2 miles to the garage to have the oil changed, or will it cause damage..? -
Ford C-MAX - Supension arm bushings 31 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Unfortunately, the service centre I took it to were very poor on expalantion or demonstration, and wants £370 pounds to replace both arms. (ford CMAX 2004). The arms are in good condition (with the exception of these bushings).
