Hi Folks
My son has a 2015 Suzuki Swift 1.6 Sport. It has a full service history and has done about 56000 miles. Whilst he was visiting friends last weekend it developed difficulty selecting gears and the yellow oil light came on ( though my son is more likely notice difficulty changing gears than warning lights).
He had the sense to check the oil level and this was to just under the max level on the dipstick. Following a weekend of partying in Kent he raced back to S Wales and left the car with me
I have today dropped the car off with our trusted local tech who is going to have a look at it tomorrow. Driving it to the garage the engine was nice and smooth ( very good news). All 6 gears were selectable but only by using significant force. Reverse was particularly recalcitrant. The clutch pedal movement was however smooth and resistance normal
I would imagine that there are 2 separate problems here but wonder if anyone has any more clever ideas?
I will endeavour to feedback the diagnosis/ diagnoses in due course
Owen
PS i have enjoyed this forum for many years and would particularly like to thank all the regular contributors
