    The Volkswagen Golf has reclaimed its title from the Ford Fiesta as Europe's best-selling car, it has been reported. According to Jato Dynamics, April saw the model regain its position at the top of the sales chart. However, the auto information group pointed out the Fiesta was still giving the Golf a run for its money - with registrations up 26.9 per cent last month.

    It's priced at £38,350 (excluding VAT) while a Volkswagen Amarok with the a more powerful V6 TDI starts at less - £35,790 (excluding VAT) in Highline Trim. However, it is cheaper than the new Ford Ranger Raptor. If you want the most luxurious pick-up with the best engine - this is the model to go for. It offers genuinely quick performance and sounds good too. We can really see the appeal if you're spending long hours behind the wheel.

    Once again, with a few exceptions, the cheaper cars were expensive. At least a couple of 1998 Ford Kas were sensible at £800 and £925. But then a 60lk mile Y reg sold for £1,800. And soon after a 269,000 mile (yes 269k) 99V Mazda Premacy diesel sold for £1,050. One notable exception was just £7,850 bid for an 82k mile Y reg Audi TT 180 quattro, but maybe the dashboard had failed.

Top bid on a 3k mile 04 reg C-Max 1.8 Zetec was £10,000, which is £1,000 down on another example on Monday. And even BMW X5s are starting to become affordable. A met blue 35k mile 02 reg 3.0i Sport auto with leather and satnav sold for £30,750, and a same met blue 56k mile 02 reg 3.0d non-Sport but with nice alloys and leather sold for £28,300.
