  While everyone I spoke to in the business of selling cars from a pitch was doing okay, and I’ve seen a massive rise in e-mails from punters wanting to buy compared to last January. Here’s the list. As usual, ‘s’ means sold. ‘p’ means top provisional bid, ‘n/s’ means not sold. ‘n/w’ means miles not warranted. ‘MNW’ means unknown mileage. ‘dmg’ means damaged.

  It found that a three year-old Mini Hatch now costs 57 per cent more than a model of the same age cost in 2019 (£15,367 versus £9,811).   Barons' 29 October auction at Sandown Park, Esher has entries from restoration projects, including a 1954 Ford Anglia, to a 2007 Jaguar Sovereign originally supplied to the Royal household. The 1954 Ford Anglia 100E bears a Ford Sidevalve Owners Club badge. However, the vendor inherited the car when he bought his house, as the incumbant didn’t want the bother of moving the car.

  THINK Electric Car Coming to London 5 Jul 2001 (News)
  Ford's Think electirc car, first trialled in Denmark, is coming to London. Firms will be given the chance to lease the cars as from September 2001 before the car goes on sale to the public in mid 2001.   Scrap car prices continue upward trajectory 7 Sep 2020 (News)
  New data from CarTakeBack.com , one of the largest scrap car recycling networks in the UK, show that average prices were up by around one per cent compared to August 2019.  By the end of August, a 16-year-old Ford Fiesta had an average scrap value of £151, while a 15-year-old Vauxhall Astra was worth £147. Average values are expected to continue their upward trajectory, as the scrap car market recovers from the Covid-19 lockdown.

  New Hyundai i20 revealed: tech-heavy small car to rival Ford Fiesta 20 Feb 2020 (News)
  A new Hyundai i20 will go on sale in May 2020 with fresh technology, bold looks and prices expected to start from around £14,500. Set to compete against the popular Ford Fiesta as well as value alternatives like the Skoda Fabia and Kia Rio, the new i20 will be sold in the UK solely with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 100PS. This uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to provide an improvement of fuel economy of around three per cent, says Hyundai - although official MPG figures are yet to be confirmed.

  Ayrton Senna’s grand prix-winning McLaren F1 car is heading to auction. The record-setting 1993 Ford MP4/8A single-seater will go under the hammer at Bonhams’ Monaco sale on 11 May. For Senna, who won six Monaco GPs it total, 1993 was his last season with McLaren. The team had ended its successful engine supply partnership with Honda and was due to use Peugeot engines in 1994.
