Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 04 1.8 Fitting iO PLAY 2 Jul 2009 (Forum)
What I'm not sure of though is whether the Focus uses standard ISO connectors, or whether I will need adapters to connect the iO PLAY? If I need adapters, what types will I need and where is a good place to get them from? TIA -
iO CONNECT - anybody had experience? 9 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Hi I'd like to connect my Sony MP3 player into the HU-803 head unit in my 2001 Volvo S60 and have seen this iO CONNECT device (http://tinyurl.com/delspd) Has anybody heard one of these working? It's a Class D amplifier and I did think that due to the size of the amplifier there was some difficulty achieving good audio quality, but I'm sure somewhere who knows more than me can qualify that? -
Re-stating my position 8 Dec 2001 (Forum)
They\'re entitled to hold an opinion in the same way that everyone else is, but to push that opinion down our throats until we either capitulate and pretend to agree, or (more likely) we go away, is damaging to the forum as a whole, and in the long run defeats the object in that it effectively removes us as a voice which, however moderate and democratic, still has the strength of numbers. This is not aimed at you, Alwyn. It *is* aimed at IO (Independent Observer) in this instance. If you don\'t stop shouting, IO, pretty soon there\'ll be no-one to hear you, and then nowhere to shout.\" -

Automatic Gate Opener 6 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I want the convenience of not having to get out of car - open gates - get in and drive through - get out and close gates - get back in car and drive off. I also want postman/paper boy etc to be able to open/close the gates without disturbing my much needed beauty sleep. -

We are going to replace our driveway gates. There is a mature sycamore on each side. Parts of the gates become sticky with goo from the trees. Which type is easiest to clean ? Any general advice welcomed. -
Car damage on private property HELP!! 13 Jun 2012 (Forum)
We own and run a small business centre and need some initial advice regarding who is liable for £600 of damage caused to a Tenant's customer's car last week. The damage occurred when an un-secured entrance gate was blown into the customer's car. We have a disclaiming notice in the car park, and all the tenants are advised to secure the gate. None of the tenants are admitting opening the gate on that morning but we are waiting for cctv from a nearby business which could identify the tenant opening and not securing the gate. -
Untreated roads 9 Dec 2001 (Forum)
With all the arguments going off in the back room recently especially the ones involving IO and Alwyn about the pro's and cons of speed limits etc etc etc etc etc , I would be interested to know how many accidents/fatalities are caused by untreated roads in the winter? -

Ford Focus 1.8 diesel - Gates cambelt kit 11 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Gates keep authorising small amounts of work and I still don't have the car. An "engineer" is coming from Belgium (or Germany - the story changes) to inspect it this week. -
Logic of Automatic selector gate 22 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I assume there is one, and that is not the result of a daft moment way back when autos were first built. A further worse thought, perhaps not all manufacturers use the same gate layout! -
Parking Question 18 Apr 2006 (Forum)
My neighbour across the road from me objects to me parking in front of her gate. This is not a driveway but just a garden gate. It is single line parking only as the road is very narrow so I have to park across the road from my property. Sometimes there is room to park either side of her gate but not always. -
Mitsubishi L200 54 reg - Error code showing for waste-gate sensor fault 29 Dec 2011 (Forum)
A friend of mine has a 54 reg Mistibishi pickup which has an error code showing for the waste gate (sensor). He noticed this first with a lack of power, when under full load either going full chat up a hill or pulling a trailer with a mini-digger. So it would seem something is causing the waste-gate to dump the gas - where does the 'signal' come from on these (intake pressure, fuel pump), before taking it to the dealer is there anything a competent DIY'er can do to repair or confirm the diagnosis further on this?
