  • Braking problem - Nissan Almera 28 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Nissan Almera 2002, the car drifts to the left so when your are driving the steering wheel is off centre. Also when braking very heavily from 70 down to 50 the car swerves across the lane, sounds stupid but I dont know which way it swerved as I was too busy trying to correct it, it was quite severe. The car is running on good condition dunlop tyres with disc brakes front and rear.
  • Help - brake pads 2 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Chancing my arm here, but is there anyone out there just now that could tell me , step by step, how to replace front brake pads on a Scenic? This is my first attempt at changing brake pads so I am sure its not that they are different from other cars - just that I am a novice. I have the wheel off and faced with what I presume is the caliper with a bolt top and bottom that looks spring loaded.
  • Brake light failure. 8 Dec 2002 (Forum)

  • Honda Brake Lamp fail sensor 17 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I have a 1988 Honda Accord, which is still battling on. It has a very useful brake lamp sensor, that tells me when one of the brake lamps has failed (it would be even better if it told me which one, but one can't be fussy, and the wife is very good at standing behind the car when necessary to pronounce the faulty one!).
  • Pug106 Brakes Seizure 8 Jan 2002 (Forum)
A friend of mine was on the way to work yesterday and a front brake seized on as she slowed for a roundabout. The car slewed round, but didn't hit anything. Nothing hit her either, thankfully. When she tried to move the car again the brakes were fine. But she took it to an MOT testing garage and had them take a look.
  • Squeaking Pug 306 brakes 27 Jun 2001 (Forum)
I've been asked by a colleague at work to post this one up. Her 00W Pug 306 Meridan has had sqeaky brakes from the day she got it. It only happens when the brakes are applied. My colleague has been told by her Pug dealer that it is down to the materials the pads/discs are made out of. Is this true Any ideas on the real cause of this?
  • Golf Mk4 - Corrosion of aluminium brake pipes 16 Sep 2015 (Forum)
My brake pipes are plastic coated, but in some places the coating is damaged and the pipes have turned white with corrosion.   Are the pipes going to perforate eventually, or will they turn white, as they have done, and then corrode no further?

  • Braking through corners 23 Jun 2007 (Forum)
    I have noticed in my area that learner drivers are being taught to drive as if the car is rear wheel drive, i.e. Brake at the apex of the corner, instead of before and accelerate through the corner. Or is it just me? {Typo in subject header corrected - DD}
  • VW T4 Caravelle Brake Pad Wear sensor 13 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Hi, does anyone know which wheels the brake pad wear sensors are located on a T4 Caravelle/Transporter. The handbook states there is one at the front and one at the rear. Thanks, Mark
  • DIY brake pads 20 Sep 2006 (Forum)

  • 2004 Ford Focus CMAX 1.8 Duratec HE Petrol Manual - Brake Light Fault 14 Dec 2013 (Forum)
I refitted both switches with the brake pedal in its home position and reconnected the battery. Cleared fault codes and started the car, this time I get code: P0703 Torque Converter Brake Switch B Circuit Malfunction If I monitor PID 'brake pedal' on the code reader, I get a correct on/off reading when the pedal is pressed.
  • Renault Clio Sport. Brake problem 9 Jun 2007 (Forum)
They were rubbish. The brakes are still quite sharp from 10mph or less though. The pedal was going right to the floor when I first got back. It seems slightly better now, but it's not hard, very spongy. You can here a hiss from the brake pedal when pushed, but I thinks thats normal.
