Hyundai i10 - Hyundai i10 battery head scratching 22 Oct 2019 (Forum)
So, what do people think in my case? Should we spend over twice as much for another Korean battery than is likely to fail in three years time to get it done by the dealership (25 miles away) or should I just do what I normally do and swap it myself? -
Can I reverse the emissions fix by disconnecting the battery? 19 Apr 2017 (Ask HJ)

Ford Fiesta Saloon - Maintaining battery. When left unused 4 Sep 2015 (Forum)
I have a new fiesta titanium which may be left unattended for a month or so. Last time I did this the battery was flat on my return. (No surprise says the aa man, modern cars consume current even when ignition is off) I have a 1.5 watt solar panel battery charger and am thinking of plugging this into the cigar lighter socket whilst I'm away. -
2014 Golf GT Mark 7 Petrol and 2009 Fiat 500 Diesel - Battery when left for 5 weeks 9 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Hello, we're probably going to have to leave both cars unused for about 5 weeks, and I'm after some advice about the batteries. Firstly, for that length of time is trickle charging really necessary or advised? Secondly, a solar panel in the car would be the most convenient solution compared to leaving plugged in to the mains, but I'm confused by the different sizes available and charging points (12v socket, direct to battery or via the diganostic port). -
Ford Fiesta - Buying - noticed a few things on test drive 6 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Would appreciate more knowledgable opionion than mine... BATTERY When I arrived, dealer mentioned having to charge the battery before bringing the car out the front. Should I be looking to deduct the cost of a new battery from price? Could anything else more serious be going on (the battery light went off OK when starting)? -
Any - Battery and Alternator Management Systems 30 Jan 2014 (Forum)
However there is always plenty of power to start the car before each journey. It appears to be the original battery. Any ideas about an inexpensive solution? -

Peugeot 308 - Jump start: Negative terminal is not reachable 11 May 2013 (Forum)
Hi all, I have two Peugeots, 308 and 307. 307's battery is drained due to forgotten headlight. So I am aiming to run it by jump starting from 308. However, the problem is, the negative terminal of the 308's battery is not reachable. I can reach it by removing the red thing on top of the battery but I guess the car won't start before the jump start if I do so. -

Peugeot 106 - Trouble starting after charging up battery 23 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I have a Peugeot 106 XL (petrol) 1996 which has been in my garage unused for about 3 weeks and had a flat battery. I put it on charge overnight and when I went to start it today, it will not start at all. The lights all work fine though which they weren't when the battery was flat. I put my keys in and turn on the ignition then put the code into the immobiliser as normal and the green light comes on to say the correct code has been entered. -

12v supply to trailer via caravan socket 30 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I believe all the wiring is there as previous owners used to tow a caravan with it. Would there normally be a charging relay in the car to prevent the car battery going flat should the trailer battery develop a fault? And if so then I guess I would simply need some heavy gauge cable (live and neutral) going from the 2nd plug to the battery - Am I right. Thanks in advance -
Yaris remote locking 23 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Might it just be the cold weather? Does it need a 'special' battery? The original battery reads about 3.05V, but only drops to 2.8V when I press a button. Both of the new ones read 3.3V no load, but drop to about 2.7V when a button is pressed. Are they just not up to the job? -

Chevrolet Epica - Dud Battery 7 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Phoned the chevrolet dealers near here and after speaking to the very helpful master techie, booked the car in for diagnostic checks (under warranty) After a while told battery failed, will order replacement chevrolet 100amp battery, then the bad news, not available till monday, as 2 day delivery, can,t promise it will be there for sat am. disappointed, but went to my local Vaux dealer who could procure a battery overnight, but wouldn,t be warranty as that has to be chevrolet doing the work, so phoned chevrolet, told them my problem, that SWMBO is doctor on call this weekend, why could i get a battery from 1 vauxhall dealer for next morning, and not from chevrolet? -
Alternator Problems?? 26 Jun 2002 (Forum)
Having solved all the mechanical problems of fitting a PAS kit from a 1999 car (that when PAS became available on the Felica 1.3), which included a second hand alternator, I came against an electrical problem which is not my pet subject. Symptom as below: Start engine, battery charge light on dash is dim, rev engine, light get brighter. 1. check Voltage over battery with engine off = 12v 2. check voltage over battery with engine on = 12v 3. check voltage over battery with engine running, plus lights, blower, rear sreen, radio etc running = 10v 4. check voltage across alternator feed to battery, and dash light feed = 5v I changed the regulator/brush unit over from the old alternator, and still no luck. -
Ruined battery ? 12 Aug 2001 (Forum)
I must have covered in in the region of 35-40 miles, but upon parking up and trying a fully warm re-start the battery seemed just as flat as it was before; hardly enough to get the starter motor to spin at all. So, my question is: has leaving the battery uncharged for (possibly) several weeks knackered it so that it doesn't hold any charge, or rather, my alternator is duff and isn't charging the battery ? -
Any - Key fob battery 25 Jul 2025 (Forum)
I noticed that the keyfob was failing to open the car and so hubby said get a new battery (Cr2032) so went into a national car accessory shop to buy one. I cannot believe that I was told that the key would need to be reprogrammed as well. It's an ordinary mass market car.
