Citroen C4 1.6HDi 90 Diesel CRD VTR - Anti Pollution Warning Faulty ECU / HP Pump Sensor 11 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Hello All, I have a Citroen C4 1.6HDi 90 Diesel CRD VTR (59 plate), which recently starting cutting out and displying an Anti Pollution Warning. It was taken straight to the garage from where we had bought the car. They diagnosed the fault as being the HP Pump Sensor, which they replaced and told us the car was ready for collection. -
citroen c5 - anti theft wheel nuts damaged 6 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Obviously remove all the other anti theft bolts first in case the adaptor is useless after this. Replace all with proper citroen blots afterwards; never tighten a bolt on a hub unless you have applied copper grease first. Have fun PG -
Citroen C3 Stop Start Auto 5 door 2005 - Problems with the ECU, Actuator and Car hopping 29 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Put it on diagnostics, uopdated car computer and all the lights lit up, dealer stated that it needed a new actuator and probably would need a new ECU but did not really know what was wrong with it. Took it to an independant Citroen Specialist and he fitted a new actuator and an ECU, then he took the actuator off as it was not needed, however all the cars ignition lights came on and after diagnosis these were resolved exceptng for the battery ignition light staying on. -
Citroen Xantia (1993 - 2000) - 99 2.0 HDi Auto Diagnosis Light 10 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I'm not sure if its a strange thing, but intermittently, I am able to accelerate properly above 3000RPM, then it will go into limp mode again. I am getting this checked out on thursday at a local citroen specialist - £25+vat for the diagnostic - but was wondering if anybody had had the same sort of problem and what maybe the problem could be. I don't know if its a co-incidence but I had filled up at a supermarket about 20 mins before the AD light came on. -
Citroen C3 (2002 - 2009) - 05 1.4 My C3 is immobilised!!! 15 May 2009 (Forum)
Hi- I'm new and desperatley seeking a solution I hope you can help me, I'm very depressed. A week ago my Citroen C3 (2005) diesel wouldn't start. The immobiliser was preventing it. I had it towed to the local garage who plugged in the ECU to the computer but it wouldn't/couldn't read it. The garage then got another chap in with another tester and the ECU in my car wouldn't communicate. -
Citroen C4 (2004 - ) - 05 1.4i Well blow me 1 Dec 2008 (Forum)
It doesn't really make a whole lot of difference to me, should the dealer be taking more money from Citroen than is needed then to a large extent I don't care I'll get the car fixed for free from my end. My question is this though - is it possible the motor is broken and not the switch? This matters since the car is coming up to its MOT and if the garage, as I suspect, is "upping" the work required I'll take the car elsewhere for the MOT work which we'll have to pay for. -
Citroen Xantia (1993 - 2000) - 98 2.1 Hydraulic fluid leak 4 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Before I could get it to the garage, a catastrophic loss of fluid resulted in the car being recovered by the AA. The local Citroen dealer said it was just a 'faulty joint' in a pipe and repaired it. Yesterday I noticed fluid again leaking from same place. This time they said the return pipe had blown off, and it was a pressure fault , and advised that a complex set of diagnostic tests would be needed to determine which of 6 (unspecified) possible things was causing the problem. -
Citroen ZX (1992 - 1998) - 1994 1.9 Diesel losing power 2 Aug 2008 (Forum)
I wonder if some-one could help me. I am a disabled person with a Citroen ZX diesel when I was coming home from a long trip the other day my car started losing power on the motorway. LIke spluttering. The fuel tank was at 3/4 full and no other apparent problems. A friend of mine suggested that I should get the Fuel filter and the Cam belt changed so I went ahead with his advise but after spending £160 on it the problem is still there infact it seems to be worse. -
Citroen ZX (1992 - 1998) - 1991 1.9i petrol Engine problems 2 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Hi hope you can help, I have a Citroen ZX Volcane 1.9i petrol. J reg. With electronic ignition and no cat. The engine cut out whilst driving the car, and refuses to restart. The car has been in the garage, looked at by the RAC several times, and I have had a mobile mechanic look at it. -
never owned a Citroen.....but hmmm! 2 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Test drove a C4 1.6 Hdi (110) VTR 5 door hatch today. I had never driven a Citroen before, so I didn't really know what to expect. I have to say it was a lovely drive. I was impressed that it didn't squeek or rattle, the driving seat was extremely comfortable and it took off like manure off a teflon shovel. -
Peugeot 407 or Citroen C5 21 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Your opinions would be appreciated, especially if there are Peugeot 407 - best looker, but we have the biggest speed bumps in the world and I'd hate to spend 18k on a car and find I can't get it up my street. Have any other owners had trouble with the long low front overhang? Citroen C5 - from the same stable, majors on safety and comfort which is a big factor for me as I drive 35k miles a year - but can I trust it's reliability and how many mortgages will I need if the suspension goes wrong? -
Which car? 19 Oct 2004 (Forum)
I don't really want to but a Ford/Vauxhall type thing due to bad experiences.. Previously I have owned Peugeot/Citroen type things, get on well with them and am familiar with how to fix the 'oily bits' In addition we have both a Eurocarparts and GSF shops within a few miles so getting spares are a breeze. I'd sort of decided on a Citroen Berlingo (Or Pug equivalent)-roomy, economical and cheap. -
My Citroen ZX sometimes won't start? 14 Nov 2003 (Forum)
I have a J reg Citroen ZX which ocasionally cuts out on me while driving and will not restart. I have found success in restarting it if I unplug and reconnect the ignition amplifier unit on the side of the distributor. -
Toyota dealer v brokers. (Via Citroen) 4 Aug 2003 (Forum)
The Picasso Hdi Desire could be had for around £11,00 for the latest incarnation of it. But I'm just a bit wary of going fom Toyota to Citroen - finding bits dropping off it and regretting it. So then there's the Corolla Verso T3 D4D with the latest 100bhp Euro 4 engine with similar gizmo's to the Picasso and the list price (inc Metallic) is £15,100. -

New Berlingo Multispace, Rifter, AND Combo Life! 25 May 2019 (Forum)
An added benefit of PSA's Vauxhall takeover is that folk wanting supremely practical, vanity-free, family transport, now have three badges to choose from. So if you like the car, but were put off by not having a Citroen or Peugeot dealer nearby, but DO have a Vauxhall one, well here you go!, https://www.vauxhall.co.uk/cars/combo-life/model-overview.html Annoyingly, for me anyway, like the Peugeot and Citroen, you only seem to be able to get the (t/c) auto as a diesel, and not with the 1.2t petrol, :( -
