Citroen Saxo 2002 - Saxo won't start - Nicks1979

Hi,

Car working absolutly fine yesterday, went to start it up this morning and nothing just a clicking noise. Obviously tried to Jump start it but nothing still. the lights on the dash were lighting up until the attempt to jump start it now they still light up but doesn't register that theres any petrol in (theres just short of a full tank) and clicking noise has also stopped.

Wondering if it has blown a fuse due to trying to jump start?

Am compleatly clueless, Please help me.

Thanks

Nicky

Not much to go on. Starter motor packed up. Starter relay packed up. Look under the bonnet. Look for a wire off or the battery connection loose. If all looks OK and still won't start call a mechanic.

Model and engine size /fuel type would be helpful. Did you connect the negative jump lead to a clean metal area of the engine itself?

All the obvious stuff first, check battery terminals are in good condition (clean and fit tight on battery posts), check the body is clean where the ground lead is bolted to the chassis etc.

Moved to Technical. From the limited information available, dirty battery terminals seem the most likely, followed by a fault weith the ignition/starter switch.
