  • VW Golf - Old shape Legroom?? 10 Jul 2005 (Forum)
I started a thread a few weeks ago about the best cars for legroom, but I'm wondering about the old shaped Golfs. I am looking at going to see a G reg 1.3 Golf and want to know what they are like for legroom? It sounds good. I think 100,000 miles on the clock is good for a Golf isn't it?

  • Mercedes Benz - Decided to hang on to old car 7 Jun 2008 (Forum)
My C class is reg in 2000 so keeping it will deny Gordon a few hundred £ s and I am no longer sure that diesel is making much of a saving. It,s 126p a litre against petrol at 115p round here so somewhere near 50p a gallon. Got the old girl serviced and through the mot with no bother and hope now to take the present 135,000 miles showing on the odometer to 200,000. Of course dealer I was going to buy from has lost a sale too. I wonder how many people are reassessing their car buying philosophy.

  • VW Touran - 4 year old car - manufacturers liability 20 May 2010 (Forum)
My 2006 VW Touran, just over 4 years old has broken down and the garage have said it needs a new clutch and gear box as whatever has happened is a serious problem. They've quoted over £2,000 to fix it. My question is, given that the car is still young (bought new), can we expect any success in getting VW to pay for all or at least a substantial part of the repairs.

  • The Good Old Days 2 Feb 2007 (Forum)
used to produced warmed-up ancient Vauxhalls but is there any other manufacturer offering the same today? We?re not bothered about badge status, colour or origin ? we?re just after a car with all the complexity of a knife and fork. Someone has pointed me in the direction of a Rover 214 ? but all ideas and suggestions are awaited with interest. Our previously loyal old cars are now dead and dying ?.
