Vauxhall corsa d 1.2 2010 petrol - Cold start problems corsa d 1.2 petrol 2010 17 Nov 2020 (Forum)
My corsa is having starting problems when it's cold, it will fire up but struggle to maintain idle and sometimes stall and you can hear the engine really struggling. The engine light was on with code P00B6. I have replaced the coolant temperature sensor on the radiator and cleared the code. I have replaced the battery and spark plugs also and the problem persists. Also i don't know if it's a seperate problem but i have accessed the hidden temp screen and the car temperature won't climb above around 55°c even after replacing the sensor. -
Citroen C4 2011 - Numerous faults with car 4 months after purchase 10 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Shortly after the battery turned out to be faulty, messaged the dealer about it, no response. Just after Christmas the waterpump needed replacing as it was leaking coolant rather quickly. Just recently the front discs and pads also needed replacing as they were close to the legal limit. And just the other day the Check Engine light has illuminated. I know I have already carried out repairs (have the proof), did ask the dealer regarding repairing the battery and waterpump but no response. -
Vauxhall Corsa - Corsa cutting out in 2nd gear 11 Dec 2018 (Forum)
There was a smell of burning through the car but no engine lights came on. I checked the oil and coolant etc that night and everything was abolsutley fine. I didn't use the car on Sunday and my partner was driving it on Monday. As he's going in to second gear sometimes the car just cuts out all of the lights go out and the car just stops as if it has been stalled but it hasn't. -
Nissan micra 2006 1.2 - Nissan micra overheating 21 Jul 2018 (Forum)
Any ideas or previous experiences, even the Nissan dealership are lost with it, and when it overheats it’s not like an inferno of coolant or anything, just hotter than it should be. One as patrol said that the fan was only kicking in when the car was too hot, but it will kick in before the warning light comes on, Any advice much appreciated -
Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI - White grey smoke 11 Sep 2017 (Forum)
It's not dependant on the weather however I've noticed it's when the car has been stood after a couple of hours, obviously more noticeable on start up first thing. It doesn't happen when driving either. I've checked the coolant & oil levels and there's no leak or its not dropping rapidly. The smoke is white / greyish not thick and like I said quickly dissipates, there is a smell which I think smells like deisel.. Mechanic suggesting for reprogramming of injectors.is it required. -
2011 Ford Galaxy - 24hr Part suppliers 16 Apr 2017 (Forum)
I'm after a bit of help if possible. Supposed to be going away on Monday so checking the car over today I topped up the coolant. I then got distracted and left the cap off. You know what is coming, yes I drove off then realised as it fell from under the car. I have managed to retrieve it but the pressure relief part is missing so I now need a new cap. -
MONDEO TDCI Mk 4 DIESEL - Erratic Temperature Gauge 2 Jan 2016 (Forum)
The car drives without fault apart from this minor issue and both heater and aircon work fine - there seems to be no noticeable effect if I have heat/aircon on or not. It has relatively newish coolant (usually at the right level or thereabouts). Any thoughts? -
Hyundai Santa Fe - great car but only up to 5' 10" 31 Jan 2015 (Forum)
A great drive, very cheap to buy. Auto. leather, powerful, smooth, fantastic. It hasn't lost any oil or coolant. It is going in for a service soon. The only thing is I am 6 feet tall and it is built for, er, SMALL PEOPLE> I CAN'T STAND IT. I REALLY CAN'T. I do not advise anyone over 5' 10" to buy this. -

2009 Nissan Micra 1.2 - Heater Matrix 18 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Apparently if I had driven to a Nissan dealer about 20 miles away they may have considerd it, this despite the fact I had lost a significant amount of coolant and that my local garage were previously a Nissan dealership until 18 months ago and still use Nissan trained mechanics and parts means no good will. Very disappointed with Nissan and despite owning several Nissans and about to purchase a new replacement for the Micra they have lost my business in the future, very poor customer service. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 1997 1.4 Diagnosis of headgasket problem (photos) 30 Jul 2012 (Forum)
However, in haste I failed to check rad integral expansion tank and later noticed it was full of brown mayonnaise. I flushed the coolant system and WOW the sludge that came out was unbelievable. The engine appeared to be using oil and then I noticed an oil leak at the camshaft end at base of cylinder head by the corner of gasket. -
Ford Ka - Blown HG or cracked cylinder head? 23 May 2011 (Forum)
Hi all. I am fixing my ka, so far changed oil + coolant + air filter + 4x spark plugs + ICV Spark plugs were the biggest b!tch, rusted to hell in the endura engine and wouldn't budge, took days of vinegar + some brake fluid to get them free without snapping, phew! -
ford escort 1.6 si 1996 - White smoke out of exhaust 1 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I bought this escort with a suspected water pump and thermostat gone, i changed water pump, cam belt, drive belt as it was cracked, still did not start and it was blowing the water out of reservoir, so i changed the head gasket, run a flat edge along head and it was straight, put it all back together and gave it an oil change, it started but lots of white smoke comin out of exhaust, took it for a run after running it half hour and it was blowing white smoke out, checked dipstick and its clean oil, checked coolant and it does not seem to be going down, when you start it it takes a little while to start probably 4 -5th turn and only blows a little bit of smoke until you rev it then it blows out smoke, any help with this would be fantastic thanks -

VW polo 1998 - 1998 VW polo - cutting out - no spark. 8 Oct 2010 (Forum)
So i tought it is the coil and I've replaced it but the problem keeps coming. I've even replaced the coolant sensor (read it somewhere on the net) and still cutting out. Do you have any suggestions? Do you think it can be a relay ? The codes show nothing that can be the probelm. it is not the fuel pump as well as i checked it while it is not starting and it works fine. -
Rover 400 (1995 - 1999) - 99 1.6 K series bad idle after headgasket 1 Nov 2009 (Forum)

Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - 04 2.0 TDI - over excitable engine fan 11 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I know it is summer and therefore the fan will kick in when sat in traffic etc, but this is far more regular than that. I have checked the coolant level, which is all fine. The car was only serviced last month and has a full VW history. Any ideas what this might be? Something to do with the control module, or something more sinister? I appreciate nobody can really diagnose over the internet, but wondered if this was a common fault........ or the starts of soemthing more serious (HG failure?).......... -
Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 01 2.0hdi bosch. Takes long time to start 18 May 2009 (Forum)
I have driven a few 03 and 02 406 hdi's which all start with one or 2 turns of the engine whether hot or cold. If it was a petrol engine I would say the coolant temp sensor was faulty. Seems like an electrical problem but not sure what to look at on these. I have a code reader (none recorded) and multimeter. Any help would be appreciated with this annoying problem....... -
Citroen ZX (1992 - 1998) - 93 1.9TD Over cooling 10 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Hi guys The temperature gauge on my ZX TD has been running slightly cool recently, around 80 - 85C instead of the 90 - 100C I believe is normal. As it was overdue, I renewed the coolant, and the thermostat (which I suspected might be the cause). I let the car idle for around 20-30 mins, sometimes running it up to 2000rpm. The gauge barely got up to 90C before slowly dropping down to 80 - 85C without the fans cutting in.
