  Strangely, traffic reports still come through as alerts and can be switched to with the TP button, but it's completely unresponsive otherwise - except for occasionally half a second on ignition when the radio comes through before dropping silent again. Does anyone have any idea on how we might be able to reboot the stereo? So far we've tried powering the vehicle off and on again, off and waiting for half an hour, and holding down the stereo power switch for twenty seconds, but these are all pretty rudimentary.

  For the past three months, I have had no messages, but the auto start stop has failed to work on the car. Today, I sat in the car with the radio on for 20 minutes, radio turned off, turned it back on only to turn off within 3 minutes, put the ignition on, same message appeared with the battery picture again. Should I get this message?? None of my other cars have I had this problem, even with the radio on for hours sometimes.

  Anyway, I'll cut to the chase, I've got the original Clarion PU-2294A head unit and these seem to still be sought after on a well known auction site, so not having the paperwork for the car, and hence no radio code details I used various calculators and they all gave me the same code, but the stereo tells me it is incorrect. My Dad had the car from new, and my brother and I have both also owned it for various periods, so it hasn't been out of the family, none of us has any recollection of having to have a new code and cannot understand why it's not accepting the code I calculated.

  Since I have had the CRV, I have noticed that when I am not in an excellent radio signal area, and have the heated rear window on, I loose signal. As soon as I get into a good signal area, it doesnt seem to make any difference. I have taken it back to the Dealer, who found the aerial base loose and tightened it up, but unfortunately this has made no difference.

  Bought my renault last jan and the fiat garage (they told me they own renault dealership in another town) had lost the service history between the trade in and me buying it, they said when they come across it they will let me have it gulliable as i am i accepted this, as they assured that they had serviced it for years etc details all on their computer. the battery died last week and the radio has gone off - local renault garage said i should never have bought it without the service history and service book, also i need to take it back to fiat garage i bought it from so they can apply for the radio code.

  I can only get a cassette if I fork out for £3000-worth of colour DVD/SatNav or somesuch! I can\'t believe this. There is a slot in the Corolla\'s dash below the radio that I could slot a cassette deck into, but it would have to be a third party unit, and not sure to be compatible with the Toyota CD/Radio. I like taping BBC radio plays at home, to play back when I do my regular 3-4 hour trips up to Manchester.

  Do I have to come down and order them or can I give you my credit card number' I ask - 'Oh, don't bother. people are always asking for them, we need some for stock' was the reply Weds Lunch, VW dealers near work - 'I've come for some radio keys' - 'did you order them' - 'no' - 'They're not here yet - maybe tomorrow or friday' Thurs lunch, VW dealers near work - 'Are those radio keys in yet?' - 'did you order them' - 'no, you said you'd be getting some for stock' - 'they shouldn't have said that - would you like to order some' - 'Yes - can you recommend a good VW dealer ?'

  Hi all. My S is fitted with the factory AM/FM radio all built into  the circular speedo assembly, hence no DAB. Does anyone know if there was DAB option at that time please ? I'm not looking to change the radio itself, but I have added a DAB adaptor going in through the Aux port.

    I'm fairly sure it's not in the engine compartment. How do I get inside to look?  Do the radio, speakers etc just prise out with plastic tools?  It's the current model with the touch screen "infotainment" job. Cheers.

  Put new battery in started up everything sweet, a day later whilst driving put the wipers on which worked very slowly, radio died and all lights flashed up again and the engine cut out. Any ideas pretty please ....??? Kind regards india

  visiting a friend in Leicester tonight and only left my car for an hour...came back to missing passenger side back window (the small one) and no radio...lovely!! i hate people who do this whats the point...it was worth like £15 and its gonna cost me hassle and what not to get it sorted out *sigh*...reported it to the police and they said someone will call me on sunday (tomorrow) to talk about it...then need them to give me a crime reference number so that i can tell my insurance what it is so that it wont affect my NCB....all of that for one lowsy radio *sigh*

  Is there any way of using this without having to change my IR central locking to the 'radio' type to facilitate the newer key FOB needed? At present I have IR locking and my key only has the 2 buttons (lock/unlock). I have read on a few sites that you can upgrade from the 2 to the 3 button keys without too much hassle but aren't all 3-button keys radio and not IR??

  Or buying a used one, again from a recognised brand. It may be the case that neither helps with the radio reception. In which case, is there a particular type of antenna that works best?. I'd rather avoid the metal coat hanger if possible, but would consider it as a last resort!.
