Enforcement Notice issued 7 months later 30 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Having done some research online this particular road, and inherant lack of signage, have caught many people out- including some locals. The contravention is described as follows: 34j; Being in a bus lane - camera enforcement.Location; In Lewisham High St between jcts of Albion Way and Limes Grove. If I am in the wrong I am more than willing to pay however, I am keen to clarify the following: 1) If there is some sort of cut off date whereby a local authority is not able to pursue an offender? -
Clio V Bike - Did I do a bad thing 11 Jul 2017 (Forum)
The lights go green and we are off, I just keep pace with them at first then pass them slightly then let them get ahead till 75m clear of the junction I close the throttle and let them rocket ahead engine screaming. They go straight through the speed camera and get a flash. I passed them further up the road going well within the speed limit and looking distinctly sheepish. I alternate between feeling guilty and feeling I taught them a lesson they needed to learn. -
Renault Clio - Bus lane incident 7 May 2017 (Forum)
I am tempted to phone Bolton council and asked if my car was picked up on the CCTV camera and telling them that i am the owner, informing Renault of a possible bus lane fine, or sit and wait until someone contacts me, my dear is that the fine will end up with Renault sitting in a file somewhere and the fine will increase with time. -
Vauxhall Corsa - Parking Eye Parking Charge Notice 15 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Parking Eye signs are everywhere stating parking is for hotel clientele only and if not you will be fined £100 and there are cameras recording activity. So, guess what we received a £100 (discounted to £60 if paid in 14 days) Parking Charge Notice. I have read loads of threads and discussions on this for people who overstayed in car parks but none for where there are signs for absolultely no parking and am not sure whether to pay up/appeal or ignore. -
Toyota Yaris - Speeding Section 172 27 Oct 2013 (Forum)
I received 2 NIP's for speeding offences committed on the same day,May 31st,recorded by the same camera on the Cheshire/Derbyshire border. The first I knew of this was a reminder I received about 5 weeks after the offences,I hadn't actually received any initial notification.I wrote to Cheshire Constabulary to explain this and was then sent the NIP's allegedly sent to me originally. As my husband and daughter,as well as myself had been driving the car in the area on the day in question,I wrote again to ask that the photographic evidence be sent to me.These photos duly arrived but show only the number plates,it is clearly not possible to identify the driver from them.We were on a bird-watching outing that day so were constantly stopping the car and getting out to look at birds,so the 3 of us would each be driving at different times, almost randomly.I wrote again to explain that there were 3 possible drivers at the time of each of the offences, and last week both my husband and daughter received letters but they are as unsure as myself as to who was driving at the times in question.Obviously there is photographic evidence that offences have been committed, but who should accept culpability? -
Asda parking fine 4 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Hi, New to this site so please forgive any mistakes. my question is that i have just recieved a parking fine from smart parking ltd which operates a camera system from local Asda store .I had gone over time limit allowed even though im registered disabled and displayed my blue badge and timer on dash and parked in disabled bay. I had not been out for over six weeks so had to do shopping being disabled means it takes me much longer than most as i have to rest every 10/15 minutes as i become dizzy weak and disorianted if i don't rest which leads to passing out or vomiting . -
Oh so upset! - Speeding fine 18 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Spouse, the final frontier Last July my wife was caught on camera in Warrington, doing 35mph in a 30 zone. The offence was committed at 8.30pm on a Sunday evening with no other traffic or pedestrians in sight. She duly received a Notice of Intended Prosecution with the alternative of a Speed Awareness Course. -
Citroen C4 - 'Speeding' on the motorway 2 Feb 2011 (Forum)
And speaking of accuracy ... the prosecution notice says the car was caught between j23 and j24 eastbound but, although the calibration certificate also says the camera is located eastbound, it also clearly states the location is between j24 and j23 which that way round would be on the westbound carriageway. If the calibration certificate can't get such a basic piece of location information right how can I be expected to trust the rest of the incomprehensible data on it?! -
N/A - Conviction, a lesson learned 31 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Haven't been here for a loooong time, but thought I'd warn others to be a little more careful and go to court if anything like this happens to them re speeding. My car was caught by a hand held camera (hidden totally from the road I might add as he was filming cars from the rear and was behind a wall out of sight in a side road). Anyway I asked for the photo as I'm not the only driver, but the image just showed my boot so there was no way I could tell, and both my wife and I could have been on the school run that day (we both do it). -
Sat Nav software updates 28 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Then there were the follow on Garmin, stand alone units (in the follow on cars) - You got one free map update on purchase - then it was back to paying for updates and the camera POI`s - though i never bothered. Built in batteries too - and little hard drives whirring away as they covered Europe. I Wonder how much it would cost to cover the world though with those £130 - for - the - UK - discs. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 99 1.8 Squealing disc brake. 16 Sep 2009 (Forum)
As I say, the brakes work extremely well - I had to stop very quickly at the lights the other day to save myself from being snapped by the camera - it stopped in a dead straight line with no noise or anything untoward from 40 to zero in a couple of seconds! Thanks for any suggestions. -
Peugeot 406 (1996 - 1998) - 96 1.8 Speedo and rev counter problems 31 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Both of these faults occurred a different times first the tacho which i could live with, but the speedo fault makes it a bit dicey with all the speed cameras about. So far i have removed the clocks to check the circuit board, resoldering a couple of dry joints i found has made no difference. There is no vehicle speed sensor on this car under the glove box. -
Can they void the insurance ? 20 Jan 2008 (Forum)
hi all i'm looking to get some advice from anyone who can help. this is a bit of a long strange story and any help is gratefully received! just under four years ago my dad received a sp50 (speeding ticket from a camera) when the ticket came through he admitted it, paid it and phoned the insurance to inform them. when he called the insurance company and was passed on to the call centre the lady at the call centre said not to worry about it, they don't really recognise them (his speed was not greatly over the limit) as they're pretty much par for the course and it wouldn't affect his insurance. -
Matrix fun and games 21 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Easy peasy, you might think, a mere 64ish mph at 11.30 at night - no problem, no need to rush, just pootle along. But they're sneaky......there's 4 miles of roadworks around J11/12 with average speed cameras forcing the speed down to 50, so precious minutes are wasted. Starting to get a bit tense now - was I too complacent at the start? Need to press on between J12 and 13. Despite the pressure, I make it comfortably with 3mins to spare and so I arrive at J13 to be issued with the next challenge "To J15 - 20miles - 18mins". -
Cumbria to Kent, not a usual BR thread 25 Apr 2007 (Forum)
In over 750 miles of motoring on the above roads, I came across no congestion, no accidents, no snarlup, no road rage, no traffic jams, in fact nothing at all to impede my progress - the only things that reduced my average speed was the extensive roadworks on the London end of the M2 (IIRC) where the 'average speed cameras' were out in force. I wasn't on a high speed run, nor an economy run and for the vast majority of the trip I had the cruise control set on a speed that was 'appropriate to prevailing the traffic conditions and allowing for steady progress' (some people may interpret this as being 80-85 mph), it was simply a long distance trip where the roads/traffic on the roads make it extremely pleasant. -
New car with more poke... Suggestions? 6 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Choices I've thought of are: Porsche 944 - looks good, relatively cheap even for a good one, reliable (though slightly older and higher mileaged than I'd ideally like), good handling. Problem - insurance, as I was caught by a speed camera in 2004 and am not yet 25. Also would have to be parked on street in Bristol at the moment, which is a bit of a pain. Lexus soarer - Looks good, relatively cheap, V8 powered goodness! Like the porsche, a bit old and higher mileage now. -
I don't know if I've been caught... 12 Feb 2007 (Forum)
I went with the flow of traffic, at seventy, past some roadwords with one of those average speed cameras. At the end of the roadworks there was a national speed limit sign, which surprised me because there hadn't been any signs telling me to slow to fifty, which is normally the case. But I am concerned that I have been done. -
Which slimline SatNav? 21 Feb 2006 (Forum)
* Do any of the alternatives allow me to set a speed alert? I don't want need to be warned about cameras, but I would like something that would squeak if I exceed 30mph. Thanks for any help you can give. Name-change time: No Wheels Almera = Now Wheels -
French Radar Traps 12 Apr 2005 (Forum)
(As an aside I gather French motorcyclists are rebelling against this practice as it makes them (the motorcycles) less visible). The camera on the A75 S close to the tunnel at Lodeve seems to have been reset to a new 80k limit (was 70). This appears more realistic, can any other local resident comment? Random Breathalyser checks at night seem to have increased around the Pezenas area. -
Totting Up Ban appeal advice 15 Mar 2024 (Forum)
For clarity - his last offence was SP30 - 36 in a 30. All others below, and they have been 35/36 in a 30. Unfortunately the top 2 same camera same road within days of each other. Same camera that did him this time, strategically placed speeding van at the bottom of a hill. 3 penalty points now expired- SP30: Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road.
