• Citroen C3 1.4 HDi HX engine Siemens Injectors - Sticking injector? 30 Oct 2011 (Forum)
  The car will then run happily all day, no warning lights, goes up and down hills without loss of power and so on, until left for a few hours, then it starts again. The car has been serviced in accordence with Citroens recommendations and had a new fuel pump fitted. Any ideas before spending another wedge on an injector replacement?

  A local garage changed the motor but has not cured the problem. Please could you advice what you think it could be, I have noticed that citroen seem to have a problem with the electronic fan speed regulator. Do you thinks this could be the problem with my mothers? the garage now want to change the switches but I am concerned that my mother is being lead a merry dance as she has already paid £100 for motor that is not needed I wold be grateful for you advice.

  Evening all,my citroen despatch van has developed an engine surging problem.Whilst driving in the mid speed range & accelerating the van seems to hold back as if its hunting for fuel & you can hear a loud crack from the engine as if the fuel timing is to far advanced followed by a brief cloud of smoke,it then clears itself & the van runs perfectly at higher speeds.Im led to believe the ecu & other various sensors controls the advance/retard fuel timing on the injection pump regarding this engine.Could it be a dodgy multiplug connection somewhere or has the pump solenoid shot its bolt?.

  I am on a tight budget but my Citroen C5 (2001) V6 3.0 Litre (I think) is in desperate need of service and some repair. I have not had it serviced for at least 15,000 miles and the baffles are gone in the exhaust. It also needs new tyres all round.

  Access looks very difficult so any tips and suggestions warmly welcomed. Where would be the best, (cheapest) place to purchase the replacement part? I could go to a Citroen dealer but would a motor factor/Halfords/eBay have such an item? To test the brake switch I take it I just short the two wires together. If the lights come on then I take it that the switch is faulty.

  Bought car last December and one of the attractions was that the previous owner had had a lot of the things fixed that were wrong with my previous one,including 7 new spheres(it's hydractive) I've always thought it was riding a bit hard.I've changed the LHM,and cleaned the filters.The accumulator sphere didn't look as new as the others so I changed that which has improved things but it still don't feel right.It does sink a bit when left sometimes.I gave it a bounce today (engine running) the rear felt O.K but the front feels a lot stiffer than my old one(non hydractive)did.After standing idle for a while the front is more or less solid and the rear is stiffer than when running(I think).It's a lovely car otherwise and I'd really like to get it running 100%.Any of you citroen experts out there got any advice please?

  the switch that boosts the volts from 5ish to full load doesn't seem to be working and i'm thinking it must live in the relay/s?? so the car has failed MOT and Citroen don't seem to have a relay diagram in car and there is no haynes manual in town....not even in the library!!..bummer not gettin hands dirty today so if anyone can point me in right direction before I have to rip out all the relays it would be much appreciated...

  Hi guys, Got a problem with my '96 Citroen AX 1.0l which is really annoying me so I hope you can help. When turning the steering wheel slightly to the right (approx. 1 o'clock) while accelerating I get a repeating knocking sound coming from the OS front wheel.

  All the other mudflaps were full of grit and mud so the message is to keep them clean with a blast from the garden hose. You C3 owners do all wash your own cars, don't you? Apparently Citroen UK are working on delivering a software fix through the National Grid via a standard mains battery charger to all those C3 owners whose mud flap drain holes aren't big enough. Until the fix is on general release, we'll just have to clean them manually;-) Hawkeye ----------------------------- Stranger in a strange land

  Sure enough, there is 2mm less tread on the outside of the tyres, than on the inside. Having found this out, I went hotfoot to the local Citroen dealer, only to be told that Citroen won\'t cover the cost of rectifying the problem with any car that has covered more than 20K miles. To me this is amazing, as it is due to a known fault (that has been known about for some time), but it has never been subject to a recall.

  Hi I had left my citroen ax in the driveway for a couple of days and when I tried to start it today it took about 4/5 attempts to start. I recently had to leave it in because it was overheating, and the mechanic fitted a new thermostat, flushed out the radiator and engine coolant and fitted a new radiator cap.

  Hi, My wife has owned her Citroen Xsara from new (Jan 2000) Been serviced once a year and never missed a beat. About 5 weeks ago the car was parked up for a couple of days (Hard frosts). Tried to start the car. The engine spun (I think more slowly) the dials went mad (Tacho meter went up to red line and back before engine started) and then when it did fire the engine imediatly died.

  *****************Please Help****************** I have had an N reg Citroen Xantia 1800cc 8v for a little over two years no and without a doubt is the best car I have ever had. But for one minor annoyance, whenever I go over a small pothole, drain, manhole or small dip in the road there is a knock from the passenger side, I am only a DIY mechanic with very limited knowledge about Xantias, I have had the driveshaft and cv joint checked which were both fine but I am still worried as I am due to go on holiday to Scotland soon and would like my mind to be put at rest, I noticed something on your page about the anti roll bar stay rod but wasn't sure if this could be a cause.

  I'm a bit reluctant as the fuse is blowing for some safety reason! Does anyone out there in www. have any experience of this problem with the Xsara or any other Citroen, I can't believe it's limited to little ol me.   I'm kind of thinking that I've got a lot of enjoyment out of my two Rover P6's that it might be time to move on to a new challenge. I've always liked the Citroen DS. My own knowledge is a bit patchy but I know that I'll probably go for a 21 Super 5 as it's by far the most popular one sold in the UK. Hopefully in the dark blue with white roof, lovely :) I wish I had the £50,000 !
