  CD6000 has an AUX facility for analouge input, but if the car does NOt come pre wired to use this , Ford tell me "it cant be retrofitted". It can only be a plug and 2 wires to get an external device wired into the radio. The 4 flat keys needed to remove the new style radio are also a bit of a barrier to going any further. Where can I obtain them ? Can anyone help ? Ford certainly cant!!

  One for the audio guys: How can I get rid off the buzzing noise through the speakers whenever I play a CD? The car is a mkIV Golf TDI-PD with standard VW radio/cassette and single CD player (separate) mounted in the dash. Radio and cassette are OK, it's only the CD player. I can narrow it down to interference from the injectors, as it only happens when the throttle is pressed, or at idle - it goes away when I lift off.

  Ever been put off a car for a wholly illogical reason? I have. I took a test drive in a new Seat Ibiza which had the radio missing. The gaping hole in the dash and all those loose wires really put me off. If I bought one, it would have a nice radio, I kept telling myself, but the missing radio still nagged at me. More recently, I had a look at an X-type Jag.

  I have checked all the usual details but the only route to good reception would seem to be fitting a decent external aerial. I have fitted a new radio to replace the rather poor (non-bmw) existing unit. On another subject, do these cars have a separate speaker amplifier unit fitted, i.e the speakers are not connected directly to the headunit?

  I'm having problems entering the code for the stereo atm though. The manual says that when the word code appears in the display you should press the radio station preset number 1 button. The problem is that code only appears briefly and when I hit the preset button it only seems to change the radio station instead of letting me input the code! I was ok with this for a while but now the radio spends more time off than on and it's starting to grate on my nerves a little!

  My Passat is a 2005 (05) plate. The radio is the factory fitted one. Every know and again it will freeze, the display will go blank (still illuminated though) and not work at all for love or money, I have tried to stop and switch of and on again hoping to reset, have pushed all buttons, held all buttons etc etc but it still wont work, but remains illuminated (Blank Blue screen, where it would say CAPITAL) I appears to happen just as you turn channels over, Press button 2, then it makes a sound and thats it.

  They say you learn something new every day - I had a few minutes to kill on top of a hill to the north of London this evening, so knowing how you can sometimes pick up really distant radio stations when the weather conditions are correct I had a little "surf" through Medium Wave and Long Wave on my car radio. Found a few French and German stations on Medium Wave, then went to see what's happened to Atlantic 252 on Long Wave...

  However, if I connect my phone via BT/aux input, it then becomes a dedicated input, of course, and I get no radio from the unit. Is there a way to select my phone/Waze to the head unit and still listen to the radio etc with Waze over- riding the audio when giving directions etc ? Thanks all……ebt

  The word MUTED is displayed on my dash and my sound is very low on the radio, just a slight amount of weak treble.  no bass whatsoever.. Radio is a Audi Concert as standard . Can anyone tell me how to unmute it.  i have obviously pressed something wrong.

  Hi All, I have just joined the site and think its great. I was wondering if anyone could advise me about changing the radio cassette ( its a Ford factory fitted ) for a standard Ford CD/radio. How difficult is it ? can I do it my self or will it be very expensive. I was hoping that the later model Modeo CD player would slot straight in but I suppose I am dreaming lol

  hi please could you help    non start the key symbol on dash is on cranks over checked all fuses ok  connected to scanner  says no feedback from ecu checked 2x 12v feeds in to ecu/edc unit  now the panel above radio says economy mode,  no electric window or indicators/radio/  heater blower / wipers......   only lights working and electric door mirrors

• Vauxhall Omega - Aerial / HRW 10 Nov 2004 (Forum)
  The Vauxhall Omega uses the Heated Rear Window as its Radio Aerial. I presume there is some form of control box that enables the HRW to be used as an aerial. I have a CDX Diesel Omega (Year 2000 - new style) and have a problem with the Radio. It keeps on cutting out as if the aerial has been disconnected and only comes back on if I select the HRW, or switch the HRW off.
