  If it only runs while you drive I can't see too much of a problem. Our car copes perfectly well running the caravan's fridge while we drive. The pins in the UK standard 13 pin car/'van connector it uses are only live when engine runs.

  Hi All, my wife runs a 2002 Ford Ka. 1.3 duratec engine, 60k or so, serviced fairly recently. I have noticed when I maneuver it, i can smell an unpleasant smell, not eggy, not like oil smoke. A mechanic (who was sorting something else) commented that he thought it smelt like it was running a bit rich.

  With diesel knock engine management light not on  We only use ahand held code reader so it's probably a run down to dealers to be code read.  I've been told the cam sensor on this car is in the pump and most likely the problem Any feedback greatly appreciated Best Reguards Mickeybo

  The cooling fan keeping running long after engine is turned off - about 2 min. This started happening after depollution fault for a misfiring cylinder which i got corrected after replacing ignition coil. The drive is fine now but the ran keeps running.

  hi new to the forum after bit of advice,ive just bought a bmw 320d privately and ran great for last 2 weeks, but now it struggles to start but when running its like new,i took it to local garage and the machine came back as three glow plugs gone so replaced the 4 of them and today went to start it and same,but on third attempt it started and like before runs great,any adivce please

  It is run on Shell fuel. It has been to my local VAG independant garage for diagnosis. No fault codes were logged and real time data was within expected normal parameters. Any ideas on where to go with this next?

  I have an 04 plate Saab 95 2.2 turbo diesel, that has started to run very rough. it has 55,000 on the clock, and was serviced @50,000. it starts without any problem, and runs well until it gets up to temperature, then it runs very rough, blows too much smoke, and is using too much fuel (down from av. 45 mpg to 38 mpg).

  mate has escort 6 1.3 endura e engine. was running rough and stalling so changed lamda sensor and cleaned idle control valve. also changed plugs and leads. now if lamda sensor connected the car runs so rich that it floods itself. if disconnect lamda car runs not to bad but intermitantly will die like carb icing on old cars when under load. have tried running car with air flow meter disconnected no better. any ideas. has same engine as ford ka.

  Hi, my daughter’s golf starts up ok but is rough running until it warms up a bit then it’s fine. Just wondering what this can be. Glow plugs seem ok. Thanks for any help. Sparky 100

  The Mazda I-ELOOP has nothing to do with starting the car. It charges on the over-run, in about 8 seconds.The stored energy is then used to run car electrics. If the car has not been used for some time a warning note comes up and the note will go away after a few minutes of engine running http://www.mazda.com/en/innovation/technology/env/i-eloop/.

  Having read previous comments I intend to replace the run flats with conventional tyres when they are worn. The current ones have done 25000 miles. Is there any reason why this could not be done in pairs provided they are on the same axle? and where is the best place to purchase a space saver spare wheel?

  As a rough guide to how many of my previous cars are still running I checked on www.askmid.com how many are currently insured. The only one shown was my last car, a 2 litre petrol Focus. All the rest are "missing, presumably dead".

  Problems with car overheating, found that fans are not kicking in, have run a drect supply to them and they work, tested sensors in boiling water, they are ok, suspect the relays could be at fault but not able to find them, any idea,s ?

  The wifes'MK2 Golf Gti has just about had-it,and we're in the market for a decent cheap run-around,our budget is 1,200-1,500.There seems to be so much rubbish around at this price,has anybody got any views on whats good and whats not?Something Golf sized would be ideal.The golfs at this price seem to be heaps!

  N reg 2 litre petrol is fine when the weather is dry. When it is wet and damp it runs very rough. Plugs/leads and coil have all been changed but no real improvement. Car has done 126K. Has anyone any ideas on what I should check further please?
