Ford Fiesta 1.4L Titanium Automatic 2011 - 2011 Ford Fiesta 1.4L Automatic Undercharging 23 Feb 2021 (Forum)
It feels like Ford are just trying random things even if they are not needed and expecting me to pay for them - however none of their 7 expert technicians at that Ford location seem able to know what it is - and so they have to keep trying different things. Meanwhile the consumer just has to keep paying out till the fault is found. That doesn't seem right to me. So now we are at a stalemate as i don't really know if its worth spending that £1k+ if they don't even know if that is what is causing the issue. -
Peugeot Partner - Vehicle won't start in garage after MOT&Service 27 Nov 2023 (Forum)
If they can't fix it, do they have an obligation to claim for a replacement for the vehicle on their insurance? Do they have a duty to get this resolved one way or another? Does it come under Consumer Rights? Are they liable for the costs over & above the works we asked for, the service & the MOT? -
BMW 525 - False Invoice and Warranty amendment by Dealer 14 Aug 2017 (Forum)
So what do you all think? It's clear they are trying to avoid any protection we might have through our consumer rights. We could just give the car back but we did get a good price. Where do we stand after 3 months, once the warranty expires, does the fraudulent invoice/contract matter after 3 months? Many thanks in advance for any advice. -
Nationwide road tolls plan 8 Aug 2006 (Forum)
A DfT spokeswoman said: "The Government has been very clear about the need to explore road pricing as a way to tackle congestion. "It is only right that we explore what legislation might be required to do this. Queen's Speech "With any scheme it will be important that the motorist can see the benefits - improving reliability and tackling congestion." -
Buses:I am so angry I could explode! 29 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Second option bus: 1 change £22 cost plus £3 for headphones to watch TV. Journey time 7 hours. Journey time a bit long, but price is right and time is not critical so me thinks go for it. As a precaution check with a human the coach time and he agrees 8.05am this morning as time. Wake up this morning check on internet again and time has changed to 8.35am. -
VW Polo - Advice Needed For The Best Possible Outcome 6 Apr 2024 (Forum)
I went to the garage the following week to view the 'damage' and it just didn't look/feel right I told the owner I would arrange for an independent inspection which I have paid for. The report has now come back and contamination from flood water some weeks previous was the (very basic version) cause. -
Renault Modus - Faulty Renault Modus 1.5dci,Legal Advice required. 11 May 2016 (Forum)
Not happy with the reply i sent two recorded letters to the dealer asking to cover the full cost of the repairs under the consumer right act 2015. He replied saying he wouldnt cover the cost, the fault wasnt present at time of purchase,or within 30 days.So next i tried the Credit Card they said they would do a "chargeback" even though i asked for a section 75,i emailed all the details and sent them to the bank. -
BMW X3 - Faulty car, dealer ignoring me 1 May 2024 (Forum)
I have now sent him yet another email (he reads his emails as he did respond to me initially) stating that I require him to act under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and that he has the choice to repair, or take back the car. The RAC warranty has a clause that any faults found within 6 months that could be deemed to have been present when the car was sold, would be the liability of the dealer. -
toyota auris hybrid 63 plate 70k mileage - Dealer sold me an unroadworthy car......... 17 Jan 2022 (Forum)
I basically either wanted a refund or the repairs fixed by Toyota dealership or at least the catalytic convertor fixed by them and the rest I would have allowed him to do. I had sent him one notice about my consumer rights about rejecting within the 30 days I then sent another letter and email and then gave him the option of sitting with a mediator which he again refused and I myself contacted the motor ombusdman and they said they couldn't help as he was not accredited. -
excess on the road 16 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I consider his behaviour as socially odious for the same reason why people don't like 4*4's. That is we consider a parking space as a right and we try to provide one for every car on the road. Thus letting 2 people park in an area is more than twice as valuable than letting 1 person take up 2 parking spaces. The person taking up 2 parking spaces is preventing someone taking their 'rightful' parking space. -

Experience of CRA 2015 and Section 75 CCA 22 Jul 2019 (Forum)
To do that I would need to get the watch back and have an independent assessment carried out which Barclaycard would pay for. But I saw a possible problem immediately, by asking for the watch back would I be risking my rights under the CCA legislation. The man at Barclaycard said I would but it would have to be my decision. He tried to explain that there is a conflict between the CCA and CRA which can cause issues (but I have found no evidence of this on the web). -

Ford Focus - Rejection of car 23 Apr 2012 (Forum)
The garage is refusing to accept our right under the SOGA to a full refund so the dispute just seems to be dragging on and on no matter how many times we contact them or go up the line to their parent company pendragon, our letters are all completely ignored. -
Priu$ Worse Than Hummer 22 Mar 2007 (Forum)
It seems like a great energy efficient and environmentally sound car, right? You would be right if you went by the old government EPA estimates, which netted the Prius an incredible 60 miles per gallon in the city and 51 miles per gallon on the highway. Unfortunately for Toyota, the government realized how unrealistic their EPA tests were, which consisted of highway speeds limited to 55mph and acceleration of only 3.3 mph per second. -

The unethical & deplorable actions of 2 companies 20 Mar 2018 (Forum)
The only thing I am looking for is me being placed back into the position I was in before the accident occurred. Large organisations such as YY and XX need to be held to account and understand what is right and what is wrong when it comes to the consumer. Should we continue to allow these unethical practises to go on, or should action be taken to protect the consumer? Signed off by me. -
Audi RS4 - Faulty RS4 out of 9 months in the garage for 4 31 Jul 2010 (Forum)

Warning for Rattle: how to do it, how not to do it 14 Feb 2010 (Forum)
My nine-year-old Plymouth slant six may not have been an inspiring vehicle, but it was a superlative consumer product. On the phone Herb Broadway of Broadway Auto Parts in Trenton, New Jersey, had mentioned an Oldsmobile for $85. But the car outside his house was a bland white 1964 six-cylinder Plymouth, the sort of car William Burroughs called a "faggot Plymouth". -
Vauxhall Astra 2.0 Diesel - 2013 Vauxhall Astra - Worst Deal Ever??? 8 Mar 2023 (Forum)
Bit of a rant this but also looking for replies with anyone with any relevant experience (especially with regards to consumer rights and small claims court…) I bought a used Vauxhall Astra in Nov. 2022 (2.0 Diesel EcoTech engine) with 87k miles on the clock and a seemingly good service history and recent MOT pass.
