    I parked out side the house went in for about 10 mins went back into car and it was as if there was no battery in the car there was nothing  no dashboard lights , no clicking ,the remote locking didn't work the battery was totally flat.  I put a charger on the battery the car started and I drove off.

  It’s 7 years old. I use the car once a werk. Is there much difference between batteries available online? Soem crz owners have mentioned Yasusa brand? Is it easy to swap in a new battery without messing up things like radio codes, alarms? Or is it best left to the dealer? Does the car remember it’s mileage when you change the battery?

  I'm on my second Voyager a 2008 model with low mileage. And now this one is getting the same fault -- A FLAT BATTERY. On the previous one I installed a "Battery Isolater" this is a device that you fit to end of your POSITIVE lead and then connect to the battery. It has a curled screw which you remove when parking up for the night and replace the next time you want to use the car.

  In 2012 I attended a presentation at Imperial College about Electric vehicles including the Tesla. The presenters told us that the batteries were likely to degrade after c.3years and buying or selling a second hand electric vehicle was therefore a bit problematic because the battery replacement costs were very significant.   They also told us that there is currently no technology for stripping down these used vehicle batteries to recover the valuable components or metals inside for re-use and that the only thing they could do with these used batteries was to offer them to hospitals or other organisations as stand-by power supplies for emergency use.

  i have a 3 button remote for my '04 transit like ebay Item number: 170629993557 but my images on the buttons are quite worn i have to get closer and closer to the van to use the remote central locking. i guess i need a new battery. does anyone know what battery i need and are there any specific fitting instructions? do i have to be able to do it in less than 0.0005 of a second not to loose the code.

  Hi I have 2002 Galaxy 1.9 TDi 115hp turbo diesel. The original battery has been changed to again Ford battery, but from Focus 1.8 petrol. I haven't driven the Galaxy since August 08 and the battery was totally flat. I'm charging it now, but not sure it will recover.

  When jump starting a car from a booster battery why do they say you should connect the -VE of booster battery to car engine block/bolt (away from battery) & NOT to the -VE of the car battery ?? Yesterday my battery was flat, tried connecting -VE of booster to engine block, would not start, probably not good enough connection.

  RAC came out, jump started car and left it running for 1 hour. But same problem happened again on the Tuesday - again flat battery, car won't start - RAC called out again, advised her of problem with battery and should take it to Renault dealer. Car booked into dealership for Wed, they tested battery and found 'no fault'. Tried to start today and same problem - RAC came out again and he found battery fault.

  Hi Guys, Some advice required please regarding battery desulphation charging >14.4 V or battery replacement. Is it likely that disconnecting the battery for either of the above mentioned actions will cause any issues with the ECU or other electrical systems?

  Is it safe to opt for the cheaper battery, or is there something about the wiring of cars with a stop/ start option that means all cars in the range, even non stop/start, need the uprated battery? Thanks in advance.

  Most of the dimensions I have seen on those mean it will not fit the battery box....

  Hi, if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.  I have a 2001 Voyager 2.5 diesel which is draining the battery after 2 days. If I disconnect the battery - lead is doesn't drain the battery. I've had a new battery fitted and that and the alternator tested and charging ok. I have noticed the the digital odometer stays illuminated in the instrument display all the time which I think could be causing the drain.

  Due to one thing or another I have several times been caught out by a flat battery. Is there a better solution than getting a jump-start off somebody? I once sold a car to a chap (having previously warned him the battery was u/s) and when he came to pick it up, he had a spare battery and jump lead with him which he used to start it (without touching the installed one).

  Should I just disconnect and do the swap and everything will be OK, or should I connect a spare battery or battery charger in parallel via e.g. the cigar lighter to support the electronics while the battery is out of the car? I would naturally keep the positive terminal well out of the way while this was going on.

  Hello   The battery light on my c max comes up after 30 seconds of starting up     The alternator is charging 14.1 volts with everything on so presume the smart charge is ok  New battery on it so batterys ok New aux belt so not slipping  Can anyone suggest what else it might be    Thanks

  Recently I replaced the battery in the Shuttle. I left the old battery, a heavy duty Banner model, outside the house waiting for the weekend when  I'd  take it to the environmental disposal container at the tip.

  The relatively new battery flattens within 48 hours if the car is not used. Battery tested as good and alternator working properly. Battery is larger than necessary for this car. Nothing left on, no drain found either by me or my specialist Alfa garage.
