Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 1995 1.2 Battery losing charge 14 Jun 2008 (Forum)
When the car is left standing for a few days, the battery loses charge. After about 2 weeks there is hardly enough power to start the engine. It is a new battery and has been tested. Can anyone suggest what could be draining the battery? Could an immobiliser be a drain? -
X5 Battery Keeps going flat 2 Aug 2007 (Forum)
A friend of mine is at his wits end with his X5 whose battery keeps going flat after a week or so. It's been into the local BMW dealer numerous times, for new battery (x2), new ignition switch, new alternator (£1000!) but still the battery flatens after a week or so. -
Battery Recharge 22 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Hi - how long should I need to drive my car after jump starting it so as to recharge the battery? The reason I ask is that I did so for about 25 mins last night but battery was still flat when I went to restart this morning. Not sure if it's relevant but car is a Jag XJS and battery had been fine up until recent cold weather. -
Leads off on battery charging? 21 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Can someone give me a definative answer to this? Is it strictly necessary to remove any of the battery leads when attaching a home battery charger to the battery on a modern car? Years ago I remember when we had dynamos it wasn't necessary but with the advent of alternaters I think there is now a link (electronic or wire etc) with the alternater even tho' the ignition is 'off'. -
is it the battery?? 23 Aug 2002 (Forum)
Sometimes when I start my mondeo (petrol), mainly when the engine is still warmish, I have to 'catch it' by dabbing the accelerator to prevent it cutting out. The battery is nearly 3 years old and I do a fair number of shortish journeys. I checked the water levels in the battery and toped them up as they were low but not below the cells. I understand some people reccommend elective battery replacement every 3 years -

M240 Solar charge battery anyone? - M240 Solar charge battery anyone? 3 Aug 2015 (Forum)
;"> Hi, I'm headed out to a 10 day long trip later this summer where I won't be able to charge my M240 battery using usual methods - I won't have access to external power sources at all. I will take some spare batteries but it would be tragic if I ran out of juice. Celica Convertible - Battery for Infrequently used Car 27 Oct 2010 (Forum)

Chrysler Voyager 2.5 diesel 2001 - Battery gores flat within 2 days 6 May 2010 (Forum)
Hi, if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated. I have a 2001 Voyager 2.5 diesel which is draining the battery after 2 days. If I disconnect the battery - lead is doesn't drain the battery. I've had a new battery fitted and that and the alternator tested and charging ok. I have noticed the the digital odometer stays illuminated in the instrument display all the time which I think could be causing the drain. -

Battery Advice 27 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Due to one thing or another I have several times been caught out by a flat battery. Is there a better solution than getting a jump-start off somebody? I once sold a car to a chap (having previously warned him the battery was u/s) and when he came to pick it up, he had a spare battery and jump lead with him which he used to start it (without touching the installed one). -
Battery replacement 25 Oct 2001 (Forum)
Should I just disconnect and do the swap and everything will be OK, or should I connect a spare battery or battery charger in parallel via e.g. the cigar lighter to support the electronics while the battery is out of the car? I would naturally keep the positive terminal well out of the way while this was going on.
