  This is taking into account the purchase price ( spread out over how long you have had the car if you already own it entirely or the repayments if your on finance ), servicing and repairs, plus insurance and fuel. My Mazda 323 costs me: To buy: £25 pm Insurance: £28 pm Repairs/servicing: £67 pm Fuel: £50 pm Tax: £11 pm

  Hi all After my wife had written off the escort (no injuries thankfully), I was looking for a replacement. I saw a Mazda 323 diesel at auction. 2000 W, 95k miles warranted px from a main dealer, metallic silver, good condition. £2500. I thought it was a good price, am I right? Just waiting to see the smile on her face when she gets home.

  I remember reading some time ago that certain OEM hard tops are extremely vulnerable to theft, - I seem to recall the Mazda MX5 and also BMW 3 Series convertibles, when fitted with the optional hard tops, are quickly and easily removable by the pond life opportunists. My son is considering buying a Porsche Boxter and was wondering if anybody on the forum owns or runs one of these vehicles and knows if their hard tops are secure from theft or not??

  I was going for either a Ford Mondeo 1.8 auto or a Ford Escort 1.6 auto but after reading posts and reveiws on this site about the gearboxes i'm not sure. The other models on my short list are: Mazda 323 Nissan 100 NX Honda Civic 1.5 LSI What do you all think. Thanks

  Hi I have a Mazda eunos auto 1990 with 60,000 on the clock. I am not sure when the ATF was changed.. One spacilaist has told that that a change in the fluid could result in more problems and leaks than leaving it alone..

  My father in law has scraped the door and wheel arch on the Mazda 626 I bought him last week. He's too daft to ask for a second quote, so does anyone here have a feel for whether £400 for a new door skin and paint and a couple of small dents in the front wheel arch sounds right?

  Any recommendations for a used budget 'luxury' car - auto/air con/leather for about 9K? I took a look at a Mazda Xedos 6 (gets a good write up from HJ) in a dealers the other day - thankfully I saw it before the valeters. Interior stank of smoke, tyres were marginal and the alloys looked as though they'd never been cleaned!

  I was intending to get a model year 2000 one via Ford Direct, I have now read that they had a lot of problems with the auto box, which came from Mazda. What is the situation now. Has anybody experience of them. I am to take a test drive in one this week, a feb 2000 registration, I won't take this one until I find out what's going on, It's also the wrong colour.

  Having put it off for various reasons, I'm once again thinking about replacing our Mazda MPV 2.0 diesel owned since 2004 (40k on the clock). Have been out of the car market since then but confess to being concerned about the prospect of buying into a whole lot of potential expense when it comes to mid-long term servicing and repairs.

  New (secondhand) family wagon will need to be able to carry 5 in comfort with luggage, it’ll need to cope with my mountain bike in the back plus hillwalking gear etc etc for adventures and it’ll need to be reliable, decent on fuel, ULEZ friendly and long lived - as I actually hate buying cars. Shortlist so far (before being tried for size) includes. Honda CRV 1.6 DTEC 2wd Mazda 6 2.0 Skyactiv Estate Mazda CX5 2.0 Skyactiv Audi A4 1.4 TSI Avant Audi Q3 1.4 TSi Sadly no Toyota’s permitted due to gaffers inability to get on with the seats in my old Avensis. I will try to pap her into a RAV4 or a newer Corolla estate however.

  How much are woth my Alcar steel rims fitted with Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830P 205/60 R16 96H XL M+S with about 7mm thread on them ? I just wondering, if there are any contradiction of fitting my old Mazda rims on CR-V for the winter months? Is it safe / not recommended ? They have the same PCD, Offset, but wheel size is 16" not 17". Also the centre bore is different, so I would have to get 67.1 to 64.1 wheel hub rings.
