Which cars cause fewest complaints? 13 Mar 2007 (Forum)
For me, I do 20,000 a year so need a diesel (knocks out Subaru) and something that holds its value (Citroen and Vauxhall don't look good on this front). So does my next car need to be a Mazda or a Skoda, or have I missed anything out? -

Trying to Order the New MX-5 23 Mar 2005 (Forum)
In the end, I couldn't bear to part with the MX-5 and kept scaring myself with the Elise, so the Elise went. Now, the idea l replacement has come along . . . the new MX-5! So, I phone up my local Mazda dealer and asked if I could pre-order one (or possibly the launch special edition). Said Mazda dealer said "phone back in a couple of months, we're not taking orders yet." Now, I can imagine phoning back in a couple of months and being greeted by "join the 6 month waiting list." -

The Mazda I-ELOOP has nothing to do with starting the car. It charges on the over-run, in about 8 seconds. The stored energy is then used to run car electrics. If the car has not been used for some time a warning note comes up and the note will go away after a few minutes of engine running http://www.mazda.com/en/innovation/technology/env/i-eloop/. -

Why do we use salt on roads? 3 Apr 2014 (Forum)
The Mazda thread on this site included a note from the US-based writer that their roads are not salted, so rust inhibiting was seen as less important. Given a typical US winter, why not, and why then are ours salted quicker than a packet of Walkers when heading below 2C? -
Diplomatic license plates 6 Jun 2008 (Forum)
An obvious one really but I saw a car for sale earlier that was £500 (1994 Mazda 323, 119k miles) with diplomatic number plates and I thought the plate might look rather cool on the Boxster. Go ahead and judge me. Anyway, the question is, does the D plate stay with the car when it is sold? -
Where to Buy Cheap Japanese Parts? 31 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Is there an equivalent of GSF but for Japanese cars? I've had the front indicator cover smashed on my Mazda 323 and I suspect I'll need a whole new indicator unit at no doubt astronomical cost. Just out of interest, which cars are the cheapest to buy parts for? Thanks in advance Pete -
928 at 84 ? 9 Sep 2004 (Forum)
A chap aged 84 has asked for advice on what he believes will be the last car that he will buy. He asked about the Mazda RX8, but the columnist strongly recommended the Porsce 928. Does the 928 have enough boot space to carry the weeks shopping? -

Hyundai i30 Fastback - Hyundai i30 Fastback 2018 Review 4 Feb 2018 (Forum)
It'll be interetsing to see how well it sells and what discounts can be had, especially as its going up against the ioniq as well in some ways (not the same in terms of performance and higher to buy, but similar in looks and cheaper to run). What do you think about this offering from Hyundai - a bit of a risk, given the Mazda has never sold that well despite its better looks than the hatch (10:1 if I recall correctly - my 12yo one is quite rare) and the relatively high price (£500 more than the hatch, no premium for the Mazda, really good deals on the Leon). -
Mazda CX-30 - Battery problems 15 Apr 2024 (Forum)
I now have a booster to get it started but have to drive the car a few times before I lose the engine malfunction warning message on the dash. I have mentioned this to the dealer but they have only just taken on the Mazda franchise so could not really help but did say that there was a potential problem when leaving doors open for too long! Anyway, I was doing some digging online and I came across a CX-30 forum which seems to be an American site. -
VW Passat/Ford Mondeo/Mazda 6 - Buying Used: Heart says diesel, head says petrol 10 Nov 2012 (Forum)
My head on the other hand is thinking about cash outlay and risk - I'm now thinking just to go down the naturally aspirated petrol engine route, where the engines are simpler and less to go wrong from a used perspective (i.e. with no warranty). I can get a Mazda 6 hatchback or estate for example that does 39mpg, not bad for a petrol engine. On the other hand I could theoretically get a used diesel engine that will do 50mpg and will never go wrong, but something tells me to steer clear of modern diesels unless there is a significant warranty attached, or they are nearly-new low mileage models. -
Mazda MX-5 Mk1 1997 - Heated rear window wiring 10 Oct 2011 (Forum)
In addition to the dash switch, I believe I'll need a 30A relay and a fuse block but I'm not sure where these will plug into. I guess it would become obvious which goes where if I were to buy Mazda items but I'd like to save a few quid and use Halfords ones if poss but, because I'm not sure which connector(s) to use, I don't know which relay / fuse block to go for, i.e. 4-pin, 5-pin, etc. I'm also wondering what rating of cable I'll need for the job. -
Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe - Car has been written off - Please help me!!! 4 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I really need some advice as I have very little experience with anything like this and this is my first time ever having to deal with insurance companies. Basically a girl reversed into my car (1994 Mazda MX-5) in the carpark of my local shopping centre a few weeks ago. Unfortunately she had a towbar on her car which broke my rear bumper and light. She chose to let the insurance companies sort this out so I rang AA (my insurance company) and Lindsay Ford collected my car on Monday last week to be repaired. -
Mazda 5 2.0 diesel Sport Nav 71K miles - DPF regen exhaust gone funny 31 Oct 2010 (Forum)
Hi all just wondering if you couild help with this at all, the above car engine light came on and i was told it needed a cat regen, went and got this done at the mazda dealers, after getting new injectors (wallets still hurting) they told me it was too blocked up and would need a new Cat Converter, however they did offer to try a new solution which has come onto the market apparently which is 95% effective (didnt ask what it was called) in these situations and if it worked it would avoid me shelling out a shed load on a new cat converter / dpf filter, suffice to say it appears to have worked and the car is working fine, but the exhaust is making a fuunny sound in the 30-40 speed range (3rd gear) the best way to describing it would be a loud Brrr noise kinda similar to how my old 306 diesel sounded when the back box fell off once doing a quick visual the exhaust seems to be fine, i will ring them tomorrow to find out if its normal, but has anybody had any experience of cat / dpf regens, will the exhaust sound go back to normal in a few days or am i worrying for nothing, its my 1st car with a DPF and i have only had it about 3 weeks so i cant compare it to how it should have sounded. any and all suggestions much appreciated and thank you to all contributors in advance. -
Honda - All Japanese final three what car 17 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Anyway after a hard weekend hitting the dealers we have a short list: Toyota Yaris 1.33 SR Mazda2 Tamura Honda Jazz 1.4 ES The Jazz is probably our favourite and the most useable, but it's the most expensive to buy. The Mazda is the smaller sporty one, the cheapest and frankly looks lovely in white with graphite allows. The Yaris is the middle ground, being bigger and more sensible than the Mazda 2. The other half wants to do a PCP deal to get a new one. -
