Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 Diesel - Vehicle will not start 25 May 2015 (Forum)
My car sudderly started playing up on starting yesterday, needed churning over for long period befor firing up but then run absolutly fine. Today will not start at all. Have plenty of diesel and fuel filter was chaanged less than 1K miles ago. I dissconnected fuel supply from inlet manifold heater and turned engine over, plenty of fuel coming thro line. Vehicle has only done 62K miles so guess injectors do not need changing, anyway this is so sudden. -
2005 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (55PS) - Fuel Filter 4 Sep 2014 (Forum)
My car has 150,000 miles on the clock - I was reading online that it's a good idea to replace the fuel filter (it still has the original one) due to the mileage. Phoned up VW for a price (£26) but the guy said it's an inline one and doesn't normally need changing. There's a section in the Haynes manual about how to change it, so it is a serviceable part although VW didn't seem to agree...there's no recommended interval though. -

Skoda CitigoYeti 1.2 petrol - Supermarket fuel 3 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Simpsons of Colne discovered that number 3 plug lead was burned out. Diagnosed cause to be use of supermarket (Morrisons) fuel. Therefore not covered by warranty. Cost me £183 for new lead and 4 new plugs. I was shewn neither lead nor plugs and on enquiry was told that they had "gone". Did a check on BRISKODA.net and discovered 2 others with similar problem. -
Mazda 3 185bhp 2.2 diesel - Fuel Consumption 4 Jun 2013 (Forum)
I'm aware of the affects of a cold engine, or start-stop traffic, but compensating for these factors the fuel consumption still seems extremely erratic. I always drive sedately (1000 rpm) but occasionally drive on higher revs to clear the dpf. The car has only done 18000 miles anyway. Recently I've noticed the car pulling even with my foot off the accelerator pedal. -
vw polo 1.4 petrol - non starting vw polo 25 Nov 2012 (Forum)
To-day i took each spark plug out individually and they all sparked fine . Also i disconnected the fuel line and turned the ignition and the fuel seemed to pump through fine . One thing i have noticed is when the ignition key is turned to its first position ,so at to activate the fuel pump, the pump takes quite a while to reach pressure ,about 8 seconds . -
VW Golf Blue Motion - Wrong fuel 23 Jul 2012 (Forum)
After 10 miles it was not running properly. She called the RAC. The RAC man came to look at the car and said it was a fuel pump problem and that she should drive it to the VW dealer 12 miles away. The following day the dealer called her to say that petrol was in the system and that it will cost £4,800 (including £4,000 for parts) to repair it. -

HELP! I've been a typical female and gone and put 1L of engine oil in my fuel tank by mistaking (was panicking when my car broke down for the first time in my life and wasn't thinking properly). I put in about 5L of petrol after realizing my mistake and drove about 5kms home with no problems. -

Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - 08 1.6 Problems with DPF 8 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I am experiencing a 10% increase in fuel with my newest XPic. Neither the dealer or Citroen will investegate, and carry out proper tests to see if the problem lies in tolerance stacking or was i mis-sold this car as i was never advised about the effects of DPF on fuel consumption. -
Ford Focus 1.8 LX TDDI (2000) - Where to get a fuel pump inexpensively? 5 Sep 2010 (Forum)

Should i buy a factory spec dual fuel/LPG car? 8 May 2010 (Forum)
If so what is available and how the heck can one search for models available? I know of a man locally running a factory spec dual fuel Vauxhall, plus a retrofit Honda, both of which he is very pleased with. I would otherwise be a diesel "nut" but with all the newly developed problems/technologies am a wee bit circumspect about purchasing diesel again looking to do 200,000 plus miles over 10 plus years in any car purchased Cos I absolutly hate giving car dealers money cheers M -
Peugeot 307 SW (2002 - 2008) - 04 1.6 HDI Fuel Cap Sensor-Anti Pollution 24 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Hi Guys, Couple days ago I had an "Anti Pollution" message in my 54 reg car. Since then my friend has read OBD codes which were P2408-Fuel Cap Sensor and P0405 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low. Does any one know what do I have to do in order to fix these problems (apart from going to a dealer)? Or at least where the above can be located? -
Fuel economy with engine pre-heater 28 Feb 2009 (Forum)
As I keep detailed records in a spreadsheet, I can report that since I installed a Kenlowe engine pre-heater in my MB Coupé (3.2 litres), fuel consumption has improved from 25.92 mpg cumulative pre-Kenlowe to 27.96 mpg over the Kenlowe period of 11 months. I have used it throughout the year, except on a handful of occasions. Whether the savings balance out the cost of electricity consumed I don't yet know, but the major benefits are of course the health of the engine and immediate comfort within the car on cold days. -
Has anyone "distress sold" their car? 16 May 2008 (Forum)
Perverse logic seems to be taking over in that people will spend £3K, for example, to save £1K a year on fuel/tax costs. -
Mercedes Benz E-Class W124 (1985 - 2000) - 96 Cabriolet, 5 speed auto fuel consumption 24 Sep 2007 (Forum)
It is a 1996 e320 cabriolet with a 5 speed auto. The car is running very well hot and cold but the fuel consumption is always in the low 20s - it is about 5mpg worse than my previous model. Any ideas what to check - all the usual has been done - tyres, brakes, engine has just been serviced. s -
Diesel *fuel* engine flush oil light on 24 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Using diesel fuel as a flushing oil, outcomes? I`ve heard about it for years and have always been horrified at the thought of the camlobe pressures (etc) when Derv is used as a flushing oil. But on another forum, someone has just run a petrol engine for 30mins at tickover on derv instead of engine oil with the oil pressure light on the whole time.
